Electric cylinders
Series 1800
Initial operation
The Series 1800 electric cylinders can be commissioned only if the electrical system on
the machine where they are mounted, is compliant to the rules and safety directives by the
destination country.
Respect the mecanical limits to avoid damages (see section "Technical Data").
The direction of the rod depends on the direction of rotation of the ball screw
(see image below). Pay attention to the rotation of the motor to obtajn correct rod direction.
It is possible to change the rotation direction of the motor with changes to the electrics.
Don't stay in front of the rod in motion
Don't touch the rod in motion
The motor is at risk of short circuit because of liquids penetrating or foreign bodies
When first commissioning, check that all the connectors and seals are fixed correctly.
First test
Switch on the motor only after tests that garantee the system and verify that the device is
totally under control. When commissioning ensure that the unit works slowly, check that the
rod isn't in collision with anything and that the switches are fixed in correct position.
Cleaning
Before cleaning ensure that the electrical supply is switched off.
Use a cloth with non aggressive products, don't leave drops.
The use of aggressive products could damage metal surface or seals.
At the end of cleaning, put on the rod a thin layer of grease, to prolunge
the life of the nose seal.
