come into contact with moisture! Otherwise there is a risk to life and
limb!
!
Make sure that the batteries are not short-circuited, nor thrown into fire.
They must also not be recharged or opened. There is a danger of fatal
injury due to explosion.
! Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burning upon contact with the
skin. Where this is the case use suitable protective gloves.
Attention!
Non-observance of these instructions puts property at risk
of damage.
!
Do not connect any damaged device (e.g. transport damage) and
unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket immediately in the
case of damage. Arrange for the damage to be repaired immediately by
a specialist.
!
Protect the product against strong magnetic or electrical fields and
against strong mechanical loads and vibrations!
!
Use only the recommended battery types.
!
Use only new batteries and do not mix batteries.
!
Remove old or used batteries from the device.
!
If the unit is to be unused for a longer period disconnect the mains
adapter from the mains supply and remove the batteries.
7. Commissioning
!
Prise open the battery compartment cover [19] from the lower edge of
the remote control [14].
!
Place the supplied CR 2032 battery [20] in the battery compartment
[21] so that the "+" symbol is visible.
!
Replace the battery compartment lid onto the remote control.
!
If required, batteries can be installed in the main unit in order to keep
the unit operational should the mains adapter power supply be
interupted.
!
Remove the three screws [12] with a suitable screwdriver.
!
Remove the battery compartment cover [13] from the main unit.
!
Place 8x suitable AA batteries in the battery compartment, paying
attention to the polarity (see Fig. B).
!
Replace the battery compartment cover.
!
Plug the DC-plug of the mains adapter [25] into the mains adapter
connection [11] of the main unit.
!
Connect the mains adapter to a suitable mains power outlet.
8. Location
The microwave sensor detects mainly towards the rear side of the main unit
(see Fig. C, I). It detects movement of objects (people, cars, animals etc.).
The sensor can detect movement through objects or walls of wood, plastic,
concrete and brick, the detection range is reduced by half (dependant on the
material - see Fig. C., II).
#
The sensor cannot detect through metal objects, objects containing
metal or thick objects (see Fig. D).
#
Avoid metal doors, cupboards and similar objects in the detection area
(see Fig. D, I and III).
#
Ensure that there are no heat sources within the detection area, these
can cause false triggering.
#
Place the main unit inside the property with the back side towards the
wall on the other side of which the movement is to be detected, eg. next
to the front door or patio door.
#
Place the main unit, if possible on a table or shelf directly against the
wall (see Fig. D, II and IV).
#
You can also hang the unit on the wall at a height approx. 0.8 - 1.5m
from the floor:
!
Drill two suitable holes with a horizontal separation of 5 cm.
Note:
Test the function and the detection area from the proposed
location before drilling the holes.
!
If required, place the supplied wall plugs [22] into the holes.
!
Secure the supplied screws [23] so that the screw heads protrude
5 mm out of the wall.
!
Hang the main unit on the wall so that the hanging slots [7] are
located over the screw heads.
9. Use
!
Push the switch [9] to the required position:
Bark mode
Chime mode
Siren mode (upper or lower position, there is no difference)
!
Turn the range adjuster [3] to the position "MAX".
!
Turn the volume adjuster [4] to the required volume. The power LED [6]
lights green and the unit is now in stand by mode.
!
To arm the unit, press the I/O button [10] or [17]. The armed mode will
be indicated by illumination of the arm LED [5] and audiably by:
Bark mode
1x bark
Chime mode
2x "ding-dong"
Siren mode
3 peeps
After a warm up period of approx. 60 sec. the readiness of the detector is
signalled by one peep.
If motion is detected the unit reacts according to the set mode:
Bark mode
1 detection within 5 sec.
2 detections within 5 sec.
3 or more detections within 5 sec.
Chime mode
detection
Siren mode
1 detection within 5 sec.
2 or more detections within 5 sec.
!
The detection range of the sensor can be adjusted using the range
adjuster [3]. Set this at the minimum level required for the desired
detection. At the maximim range setting the unit sensor is very sensitive
and may react to other disturbances.
!
Use the adjuster [4] to set the desired volume.
!
To disarm the unit and to cancel the reaction to movement press the
1 bark
3X bark
10 sec. Bark
2x "ding-dong"
3 sec. Siren
20 sec. Siren
