3.2. PREPARING FOR USE / DEVICE USE
3.2.1 INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
1.
Pull the battery cover away from the handle shaft.
2.
Place the battery in the chamber, mind the correct
polarity.
3.
Close the battery cover.
Note: If the device display shows low battery and it is
necessary to replace the battery with a new one (the
battery icon will appear in the upper left corner of
the display), proceed in the same way as above.
3.2.2 CARRYING OUT MEASUREMENTS CORRECT
PERFORMANCE OF MEASUREMENT:
1.
Turn on the thermometer [4].
2.
Place the thermometer in front of your forehead at
a distance of 1-3 cm (do not touch the skin).
3.
Press the measurement button [1], the temperature
will appear on the display [7].
against
4.
Turn off the device [4] or wait 5s - after this time the
device will turn off automatically
NOTE: The display may show "LO" - which means
that the measured temperature is lower than the
thermometer scale or "HI" - which indicates a higher
temperature
temperature than the thermometer scale. Usually,
this message appears when the measurement
has been made incorrectly or the temperature of
an object other than that for which the device is
intended has been measured.
TIPS FOR PERFORMING CORRECT MEASUREMENT:
•
maintain an ambient temperature of 25°C +/- 30°C
(the maximum ambient temperature for proper
operation of the device is 40°C);
•
measure on a clean, dry forehead not covered by
hair;
•
wait 30 minutes after bathing or exercising;
•
after transport and change of the ambient
7
temperature, wait with measurement for approx.
1
20-40 min. till the sensor adapts to the environment;
•
if in doubt as to whether the result is correct, repeat
the measurement or use another device to compare
6
the results;
•
keep in mind that human body temperature changes
8
at different times of the day and is also affected by
other conditions such as age, gender and skin colour.
5
CALIBRATION
When irregularities in the operation of the device are
noticed, it is recommended to calibrate it. Make a test
measurement and compare it with the measurement by
another device already tested. If the measurements do not
match:
1.
Remove the battery for 10 seconds.
2.
Hold the button [6] for 3 seconds while installing the
battery (the button [6] being pressed all the time).
3.
After inserting the battery the screen will display
00.0. You can release the button [6].
4.
Adjust the difference using the button [2] - each
press increases the value of the temperature reading
by 0.1°C and button [3] - each press reduces the
value of the temperature reading by 0.1°C.
5.
After calibration, remove and reinsert the batteries.
3.3. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
a)
Use only non-corrosive cleaners to clean the surface.
b)
Store the unit in a dry, cool place, free from moisture
and direct exposure to sunlight.
c)
Do not spray the device with a water jet or submerge
it in water.
d)
The device must be regularly inspected to check its
technical efficiency and spot any damage.
e)
Do not leave the battery in the device if it will not be
used for a longer period of time.
f)
Use a soft, damp cloth or sponge and a mild solution
of water and soap to clean the case.
g)
It is recommended to use clean compressed air to
remove fine dirt from the lens surface. Remove the
remaining dirt with a soft and lint-free cloth.
