The devises presented in these instructions correspond to products assigned:
• To operate in industrial areas.
• To be components for complex devices or installations.
• To be used as an ancillary device for testing carried out by technicians.
Consequently these products are exclusively for sale to technicians. Its installation and use should be planned and
executed by qualified personnel, who will be responsible to apply the E.M.C. and safety legislation and standards,
which regulate specifically the installation to which the product is assigned.
In case of doubts about the interpretation of any technical aspect, specially concerning the non-standard ARC, the
After Sales Service is prepared to give advise to the designer, fitter or user. For any consultation, please give always
the complete references given on the equipment's reference plate.

GENERAL ADVISES CONCERNING SAFETY
• The equipment has no protecting casing against electrical discharge (it corresponds to IP00 class). Therefore,
adequate protection precaution should be taken during its installation.
• The terminal marked as
insulation.
• The equipment's terminals are specially for fork or eyelet type terminals. It is not advisable to connect directly
cables without its corresponding terminal fitting as there is the danger that they might not be tightly fixed and with
the risk of short-circuiting with the adjoining terminals.
• The equipment does not admit current overloads, specially if they take place in a fix point of the winding. Should
you anticipate output overcurrent, a current limiting protection should be installed (if possible a thermal-magnetic
circuit breaker) at the output.
• Avoid loading the ARC with loads having a DC current component, for instance half wave rectifiers.
• The maximum output current is dependent to the environment temperature. Check for the requested limitation
dependent to that temperature, on paragraph 2.
• Motorised ARC are fitted with gearing which might originate danger of injuries to persons.
• Also, the movable system of the cursor-collector may represent a danger.
• On normal conditions, the ARC toroidal type comply by large the 89/336/CEE Standards about Electromagnetic
compatibility (E.M.C.)
Nevertheless, under determined working conditions it is possible to exceed the Standard's limits. Avoid:
- Dirty contact tracks (produces sparks).
