JENSEN AQTIVE III
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on the purchase of your Jensen Aqtive III adjustable bed. We believe this
bed will give you many years of daytime and night-time comfort. We kindly request that you
study this manual closely before you start to assemble and install the bed.
GUARANTEE
If used normally, your Jensen Aqtive III is guaranteed for 5 years. The bill on which the
date of purchase is stated serves as a certificate of guarantee. In the event of any faults or
malfunctions, please contact the store from which you purchased the bed. When you do
so, you should state the model number shown on the motor (see illustration 4).
USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
3The bed can be moved to different positions using the remote control. Move the joystick
to the right or left to select the desired function. The function that you can control at any
given time is shown by an icon which lights up on the remote control (a small red light). You
can alter the selected function by moving the joystick up and down.
The various functions are:
2
1.
Head end
2.

Press right or left to select the function. Then move up or down to change the massage
position. The series of lights (illustration 5) indicates the desired massage force. Turn off the
massage by switching off all the lights. The lights on the remote control go out after 15 seconds.

head end, as desired). Press the joystick and keep it pressed until it starts
flashing.
2.
When the head and/or foot end(s) is/are raised, press the joystick briefly
and the bed will return to the horizontal position.
3.

the bed will move to the position saved in the memory.
MALFUNCTIONS
If you are unable to adjust the bed, proceed as follows:
Reset the remote control. Refer to the paragraph entitled 'Activating the
remote control'.
Check whether the plug has been inserted properly into the socket and that
it is connected to the power supply.
Check whether there are batteries in the remote control and whether the
lights and symbols light up when you move the joystick. Replace the
batteries if they have run out.
Remove the plug from the socket and repeat the procedure.
Do not open the motor, the electrical components or the remote control
yourself. The producer does not accept any liability if an unauthorised person
has opened the motor, or has tampered with the electrical components or the
remote control. New parts must be obtained from an authorised supplier.
NOISE
A mechanical and electrically adjustable bed generates noise. The noise that
the bed makes may be reinforced by the acoustics of the room it is in. When
the massage function is activated, resonance may occur on a hard floor. You
can reduce this by laying a rug or some other material that absorbs vibrations
under the legs of the bed.
EMERGENCY FUNCTION
In the event of a power failure you can lower the bed by pressing the red but-
ton on the control unit and by keeping it pressed. For this to work there must
be two 9 V batteries in the control unit. Once this function has been used, the
batteries must be changed to ensure that this function will work again in the
event of a future power failure.
USAGE
The bed's lifting motors are not designed for continuous usage. The bed will
only continue to be reliable and operate for a normal life if the motors do not
operate for longer than 2 minutes during a 18 minute period. If this limit is
exceeded, the life of the products will be reduced and the guarantee will no
longer apply. The bed has been constructed in such a way that it can bear
a maximum weight of 150 kg kg, distributed equally over the entire surface
of the bed, from the head end to the foot end. If you exceed these limits, the
product will be damaged and the guarantee will no longer apply. It is important
that no-one is sitting on the head or foot end of the bed while the bed is raised
or is moving.
NB:
If used carelessly, items may become trapped by the bed's moving
parts. You should therefore keep the remote control out of the reach
of children!
