Safety instructions
Every WALTER power tool is produced in accordance with applicable standards
governing the manufacture, performance and safety of power tools.
WARNING: When using electric tools, basic safety precautions should always
be observed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury,
including the following.
Before using this machine, read all safety and operating instructions carefully
and save this owner's manual for future reference.
1. Read this owner's manual to familiarize yourself with the tool's operation,
it's particular features, applications and limitations.
2. Keep work area clean and well lit. A cluttered environment invites accidents.
Remove any material that may be ignited by sparks. Do not use this tool when
flammable liquids or gases are present. Keep handles clean, dry and free from
oil and grease. Do not use in rain, damp or wet locations.
3. Keep children and other persons at a safe distance from the work. Make sure
no one is under you when working in high places. Do not let unqualified persons
handle this power tool or extension cord.
4. Do not wear loose-fitting clothes or jewelry. They can be caught in moving
parts. Wear protective covering to contain long hair. Wear appropriate clothing
and other safety items, such as safety shoes, suitable working gloves,
ear plugs, etc.
5. Always use safety glasses. If necessary, also wear a face or dust mask during
dusty operations and a respirator to avoid inhalation of dust particles.
6. Guard against electric shock by avoiding body contact with grounded surfaces.
Example: pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures, etc.
CAUTION: Avoid grinding, cutting, etc. wherever electrical wires may be
encountered. To minimize electric shock, hold the tool by the insulated handle(s)
and/or insulated housing only.
7. Stay alert at all times when handling a power tool. Watch what you are doing and
use common sense. Do not operate the tool when you are tired and never.
8. Before switching it on, remove all wrenches and keys which may interfere with
the operation of the tool.
9. Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure the switch is in its OFF position before
plugging in. Never carry any power tool with your finger or thumb on the switch.
10. Secure work pieces with clamps if necessary, hold the power tool firmly using
both hands. Do not overreach, maintain good footing and balance at all times.
