Supplementary instruction manual
for use in areas at risk of explosion
Before carrying out any maintenance tasks, make sure that:
- The power take-off of the vacuum/pressure lobe pump has been disconnected:
- The environment is free of explosive atmosphere;
8.0 - TEMPERATURE CONTROL OF THE VACUUM/PRESSURE LOBE PUMP
In order to guarantee the operating parameters indicated in the use and maintenance manual,
vacuum/pressure lobe pumps are fitted with an ATEX-certified thermostat (set to 150° C max).
The manufacturer supplies the thermostat with the vacuum/pressure lobe pump, but does not supply the control
system which is the responsibility of the system designer. The thermostat is fitted on the supply side of the structure
which is the hottest side of the machine.
Install a thermostat on the oil system in pumps operated by a hydraulic motor (H version). The oil temperature
must not exceed 80° C continuously.
Use a hydraulic oil with a flash point over 200° C.
The electrical system must be wired according to precise specifications which are defined by the EN 60079/14
standard.
The grounding system must be implemented by the machine installer.
The grounding must be adequate (minimum cable section of 6 mm).
Make sure that the grounding system is coordinated with the protection devices of the machine power supply network.

Make sure the vacuum/pressure lobe pump is in a safe state before starting the cleaning operations.
During cleaning operations, the operator must ensure that equipment used (portable lamps, aspirators, etc...) are of a
category suitable to the environment (category II 2G).
