4.0 - RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER
The manufacturer declines all liability in the event of:
- Use of the vacuum/pressure lobe pump contrary to the national and international laws for safety and
accident prevention.
- Incorrect application or failure to comply with the instructions given in this manual and in the
"INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL
FOR USE AND MAINTENANCE" attached to the vacuum/pressure lobe pump.
- Modifications or tampering.
- Work carried out by untrained personnel.
In order to use the equipment in compliance with the classification according to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, observe
the technical data indicated on the rating plate and the documentation that must be kept near the equipment.
• Set-up and maintenance procedures of the vacuum/pressure lobe pumps, must be performed by qualified personnel
in a non-explosive atmosphere.
• The vacuum/pressure lobe pump, in compliance with ATEX 2014/34/EU, is classified in group II (not for use in
mines or underground) and category 2G and can be used in zones 1 and 2 with use in areas where gas is present, both
inside and outside the pump, and a place in which the formation of an explosive gas atmosphere is likely. During
normal activities, use the vacuum/pressure lobe pump in combination with other equipment only if these can at least
operate in the same area. The characteristics of the explosive mixture must comply with the maximum temperature
data indicated in the marking.
Hazardous zones are areas in which explosive atmospheres may develop under certain conditions.
• The user must classify the hazardous areas as indicated in Directive 99/92/EC, under their own responsibility. The
IEC 60079-10-1 standard provides the criteria for the classification of hazardous zones in relation to the chemical
nature, physical characteristics and quality of the substances used, based on the frequency and period of time in which
the occurrence of an explosive mixture may arise.
The installation procedures must be carried out in a non-explosive atmosphere.
The atmosphere of use must comply with the indications of maximum surface temperature shown on the rating plate according to
the ATEX regulations. Provide appropriate protective devices to prevent dangerous accumulations of dust and liquids around seals
and protruding shafts. Apply sealant liquid on the threads of all the screws used for fixing the pump to the structure to prevent them
from coming loose. If used in environments at risk of explosion, use only items of equipment suitable for the type of area. Make
sure that a necessary potential equalization is re-established between the set-up and the vehicle.
Before commissioning check:
- The ATEX conformity with all accessories that may be connected to the machine.
- The compatibility of the atmosphere of the place in which the vacuum/pressure lobe pump must operate with the
marking indications.
- The maximum temperature of the surfaces of the pump must not exceed the value indicated in the marking.
- Once the installation steps have been completed, clean the vacuum/pressure lobe pump, taking care that there is no
accumulation of dust exceeding 5 mm thickness.
- Installation of the temperature control system.
