Before connecting a consumer to the energy cost measuring instrument,
the integrated rechargeable battery must be charged up. To do this, plug
the measuring instrument into a mains socket for 5 minutes, and then set
the time and the electricity tariff. The procedure to set the time is described
under item A, the electricity tariff under item B below. Please note that the
battery should be charged up fully after that, i.e. for approx. 12 hours.
A. Setting the time and the day of the week
To set the time, first press the '+' and '-' keys simultaneously and keep
them depressed until the time display flashes. Now you can set the
respectively flashing value from 0 to 9 using the '+' and '-' keys. Press
the 'MODE' key to confirm the flashing digit; the display then jumps
automatically to the next digit.
Once you have pressed the 'MODE' key four times to set the time,
the day of the week flashes in the lower area of the display. Set this
also using the '+' and '-' keys and confirm the selected value with the
‚MODE' key. The display now jumps to electricity tariff 1 (COST/h1).
B. Setting the electricity tariff
You have the possibility to enter two different electricity tariffs with different
start times, e.g. day and night tariffs. First set the start time for the measu-
rement of electricity tariff 1, as described above for the setting of the time.
B - 3
Once you have pressed the 'MODE' key four times to set the start time,
you must then set the tariff. The unit of display is cents; hence, for ex-
ample, 10 cents would be entered as '10.0 COST/h'. Confirm the va-
lue entered by pressing the 'MODE' key. The display now jumps to the
'COST/h2' tariff.
To set electricity tariff 2, proceed exactly as for electricity tariff 1.
C. Resetting the meter
To set the current metered values to zero, press the ‚MODE', ‚+' and ‚-'
keys simultaneously and keep them depressed until the display jumps
to zero. All current values have now been reset and metering begins
at zero.
