SAfEty INStrUctIONS
These instructions must be read carefully before putting the appliance into
operation or using it and must always be kept near the place of installation
or by the appliance! The appliance was subjected to extensive material,
functional and quality checks before delivery. This appliance can never-
theless represent a hazard if it is not used for its intended purpose or if it is
used inappropriately by persons who have not been trained to operate it.
Please observe the following instructions.
• Warranty claims are voided in the case of damage caused by failure
to follow these operating instructions! We will not accept any liability
for consequential damage!
• We will not accept any liability in the case of damage to property or
injuries to persons caused by incorrect handling or failure to observe
the safety instructions! All warranty claims are voided in such cases.
Modification of the appliance is not permitted.
• Make sure that the appliance is put into operation properly. To this
end, observe these operating instructions.
• The housing must not be dismantled.
• Care must be taken that the looped-through protective earth connector
is not interrupted, since this would constitute a lethal hazard.

• Measuring instruments are not toys and should be kept away from
children!
• Connect the measuring device only to approved mains sockets with
protected contacts rated at 230 V AC 50 Hz (10/16 A) with a protective
earth connection (VDE).
• The connected load must not exceed 3650 W (16 A).
• The recommended operating temperature is between +5 and +40 °C.
Higher temperatures, especially during measurement of larger power
consumers, lead to a risk of overheating resulting in the permanent
destruction of the measuring instrument.
• Avoid operation under adverse ambient conditions, such as in the
presence of inflammable gases, vapours and dust.
• For reasons of safety, never allow the appliance to be operated in a wet
condition or in a moist environment. The appliance must be disconnected
from the operating voltage under all circumstances for the purposes
of cleaning or maintenance.
• In industrial facilities, the applicable regulations for the prevention of
accidents pertaining to electrical equipment must be complied with.
• In schools and educational institutes, and in hobby and self-help
workshops, the handling of the appliance must be supervised respon-
sibly by trained personnel.
