INSTALLATION
WARNING: before carrying out any work, put the proper
individual protection devices on.
WARNING: check that the power supply is disconnected
before performing operations on the unit.
WARNING: wiring connections installation of the fancoil
and relevant accessories should be performed by a technician
who has the necessary technical and professional expertise to
install, modify, extend and maintain plants and who is able to
check the plants for the purposes of safety and correct opera-
tion.
In the specific case of electrical connections, the following
must be checked:
- Measurement of the electrical system insulation strength.
- Continuity test of the protection wires.
Instructions for the correct installation of equipment are indi-
cated below. However, it is at the installer's discretion to com-
plete all the installation operations in accordance with specific
requirements.
Conditioning units using R407C refrigerant gas require special
attention during assembly and maintenance operations. To
prevent operating malfunctions, always:
- apply vacuum to the unit and unit lines before opening the
valves of the condensing unit.
- eliminate all water inside the refrigerant circuit.
- use the specified type of oil to top up the compressor. R407C
series rotary compressors use DAPHNE FV68S oil only.
- In the event of significant gas charge leaks, do not replenish
the refrigerant fluid. Drain the machine completely, apply
vacuum then recharge with the specified quantity.
- In the event of replacement of refrigerant circuit parts, never
leave the circuit open for more than 15 minutes.
- In the event of compressor replacement, complete installa-
tion within 15 minutes of removal of the rubber plugs.
- Never compress air inside the compressor.
- Never power up the compressor when empty.
- Should it be necessary to increase the refrigerant charge due
WATER CIRCUIT DRAINAGE
If the condensing unit has been installed outdoors or in a cold
environment, it should be drained before the winter season to
prevent the risk of freezing.
Shut off the water supply to the CWX unit, open the drain valve
WIRING CONNECTIONS
The conditioners are supplied by a single-phase 230/50 Hz
voltage or a three-phase 400/50 Hz voltage for CWX T units.
The units must be electrically connected together as specified
in the wiring diagrams.
The unit power line must be fitted with a magno-thermal cut-
REFRIGERANT CONNECTIONS
Prepare the piping as follows:
- cut the copper piping to size using a pipe cutter;
- smooth the two ends using a pipe reamer;
- insulate the pipes and fit conical nuts before flaring;
- use a conical pipe flange for flaring;
- make sure the conical section is axially aligned with the
pipe, and that it is smooth, fracture-free and of uniform thi-
ckness.
For refrigerator connections, proceed as follows:
- Feed the lines, condensate drain pipe and electrical cables
through the hole in the wall and align the ends of the lines
with the unit fittings (seal them with tape before feeding
to cooling lines longer than 10 m, make sure that the refrige-
rant added is in liquid form.
- Using R407C gas bottle take care to the maximum number
of allowed drawings in order to ensure the correct proportio-
ning of R407C gas.
Before recharging the unit make sure any time that you are
using the refrigerant gas indicated in the table containing the
characteristics of the condensing unit.
UNIT LEVEL DIFFERENCES
The maximum permissible level difference between indoor and
outdoor units for cooling-only models is ± 7 m.
If the position of the outdoor unit is higher than that of the
indoor unit, you are advised to fit a siphon or equivalent
system on the gas line every 3 metres of height difference.
INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION
For unit installation and technical data, see the indoor unit
Technical and Installation booklet.
CWX UNIT INSTALLATION
Install the unit in the light of the following information:
- electrical connections: thread the cables through the rubber
fasteners;
- always allow for minimum clearances around the unit requi-
red for maintenance;
- when making hydraulic connections, use the kit comprising
nipples (1), T joints (2) and plugs (3) supplied.
Bear in mind that the unit is equipped (as standard) with a
series of pressure switch valves which regulate water flow.
Before draining the unit during the winter season, shut off the
water supply by means of a valve or shutter.
In the event of pressure switch cut-in, reset it manually by
pushing the button on the side of the unit (hydraulic connec-
tions side). If the pressure switches cuts in continuously, con-
sult the Technical Assistance office.
on the side (hydraulic connections side), then remove the plugs
from the two T joints.
out switch or isolator with fuses.
For indoor and outdoor unit connections anf for the relative
cross-section and IL switch values, refer to the "Wiring dia-
gram" chapter.
them through the hole to prevent the infiltration of dirt);
- Connect the refrigerator lines to the indoor unit;
- before connecting the lines to the indoor unit, make sure that
they are correctly positioned and lock, taking care to clean
the fittings to guarantee perfect contact between locking sur-
faces;
- bend the refrigerator lines in order to align them with the
outdoor unit fittings (do not bend refrigerator lines by a
radius of less than 100 mm to avoid crushing the pipe sec-
tion);
- install the condensate drain pipe (see "Condensate drain"
section);
