Troubleshooting
If the device does not work properly, check whether you are able to rectify the problem
yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps that are listed, contact the cus-
tomer service department.
Do not attempt to repair an electrical device yourself!
Problem
The device cannot
be switched on.
The fuse in the
fuse box is trig-
gered.
The device switch-
es off before the
water has boiled.
The device does
not switch off .
During use, an
unpleasant smell
is detected.
Disposal
Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner so that
it can be recycled.
This device is governed by the European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electri-
cal and electronic equipment (WEEE). Do not dispose of this device as normal
domestic waste, but rather in an environmentally friendly manner via an offi cially
approved waste disposal company.

Possible cause
The device has overheated.
The mains plug is not
inserted in the plug socket
correctly.
The socket is defective.
No mains voltage is present.
The On / Off switch (1) is in
position 0 (off ).
Too many devices connected
to the same circuit.
The amount of water is less
than the MIN marking.
The lid (8) is not properly
closed.
The device is being used for
the fi rst time.
The device has just been
descaled.
Fix
Wait until it has cooled down, then
fi ll it with water and try again.
Correct the fi t of the mains plug.
Try another plug socket.
Check the fuse of the mains
connection.
Set the On / Off switch (1) to posi-
tion I (ON).
Reduce the number of devices in
the circuit.
Pour in more water.
Close the lid properly.
A smell often develops when new
devices are fi rst used. The smell
should disappear once the device
has been used several times.
Rinse out the device with clear
water.
