Filter replacement
ATTENTION!
Always wear face mask and gloves during filter
exchange/cleaning.
6.2.1 DuraFilter main filter
The main filter cannot be cleaned and must be replaced
whenever necessary. The lifespan of the filter strongly depends
on the welding process, the composition of the welding fumes,
the intensity of use and the humidity. The frequency of
replacement will be a matter of experience.
Replace the main filter:
- when the filter pollution indicator (Fig. 5.1C) shows that the
filter cartridge is saturated or clogged; or
- when the airflow is reduced to the point that extraction
performance is no longer satisfactory; or
- when it has been damaged.
To replace the main filter proceed as follows.
Fig. 6.1
•
Turn off the machine and disconnect it from the mains.
•
Loosen the thumb nut (A) and remove the filter cover (B).

6.2.2 Spark arrester
Replace the spark arrester (Fig. 6.3B):
- when it is saturated or clogged and cannot be cleaned using a
vacuum cleaner; or
- when it has been damaged.
In case the spark arrester has been damaged, it is
recommended to also replace the main filter.
6.2.3 Activated carbon filter (option)
The activated carbon filter cannot be cleaned.
Replace the activated carbon filter:
- when detecting odours and smells; or
- when it has been damaged.
•
If necessary, replace the activated carbon filter.
To exchange the activated carbon filter, it is not necessary to
take out the main filter.
