c) Operation
• The mains socket into which the mains plug of the sharpener is plugged must be near the device and
easily accessible.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold into a warm environment. The
condensation generated may destroy the product. Moreover, there is the risk of a fatal electric shock!
Let the product reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This may take several hours.
• Keep your workplace clean.
• Work only with enough lighting of the workplace.
• Do not operate the device when you are tired or inattentive. Do not work under the influence of alcohol or
medication. This may cause severe injury.
• Persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities must not use the product unless they are in-
structed and supervised by a responsible person.
• Check that all parts are installed firmly and safely before commissioning. Only then must be product be
switched on and used.
• Ensure sufficient ventilation of the workplace while grinding. Inhalation of grinding dust is hazardous to
health. Wear a suitable protection mask.
• Always wear suitable protection clothing, safety gloves, goggles and hearing protection when working
with the product.
Grinding produces hot and partially glowing metal particles that may cause severe burns or eye damage.
The noise of the sharpener or during grinding may cause hearing damage.
Also keep clothing, jewellery, hair, etc., away from turning or moving product parts. Danger of injury!
• The hot and glowing metal particles that are produced when grinding may cause damage to surfaces
near the sharpener (e.g. table, wall, floor, furniture).
Therefore, do not install and operate the sharpened near high-value surfaces, furniture or floors, or use
suitable supports and protection devices. We recommend using the sharpener, e.g. in an accordingly
suitable hobby room or a garage.
Therefore, also do not use the sharpener near easily flammable objects (e.g. carpet, curtain) or liquids
(gasoline, oil). There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Ensure a secure stance when working with the sharpener. Tripping causes the danger of accidentally
reaching into turning or moving parts; danger of injury!
• Always work in front of the sharpener; do not reach across the sharpener. Body or clothing parts may
enter turning or moving parts; danger of injury!
• Keep the sharpener clean, protect the grips and operating parts without grease and oil. Otherwise, slip-
ping poses danger of injury!
• Operating time must not exceed 20 minutes. Then let the product cool off for at least 20 minutes before
using it again.
