BR 01-97 INSTRUMENT

The reliability of a military-inspired watch equipped with a power reserve
indicator.
For professionals who require total reliability, Bell & Ross has designed an
automatic watch equipped with an indicator to show the mechanism's energy
reserve.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Self-winding mechanical
movement

4 positions (tolerance of 0/+10 seconds a day).

GENERAL USE
To unscrew the crown in position 0, turn it anticlockwise.
watch has stopped , unscrew and pull the crown to position 1 then wind the mecha-
nism by turning the crown clockwise. After approximately 40 rotations, the watch is
completely wound (the mechanism does not have a stopper to avoid too much pres-
sure on the winder). The power reserve is then approximately 42 hours. When the
watch is worn , it is the automatism which winds the movement.

3. Set the hour (clockwise or opposite direction)
4. Unscrew the 4 screws (J) to dismantle the strap (anticlockwise)
5. Unscrew the 4 screws (K) to dismantle the strap fasteners (H) (anticlockwise)

ensure a date change at midnight and not at midday, it is advisable to carry out the
date setting with the help of the hour hands. Pull the crown to position 3 and turn
the hands until the date has changed. Then adjust the hour accurately.
Unscrew and pull the crown to position 3. The second hand has thus stopped which
enables an adjustment with accuracy to within one second. Adjust the hour by turn-
ing the crown in the desired direction.
DISASSEMBLY OF THE 2 STRAP FASTENERS AND THE STRAP
Your watch's case is made up of 3 main sets:
Set 1: the main body of the case with the crown (G)
Set 2: the « lid » of the case with the sapphire crystal
Set 3: the strap's 2 fasteners (H)
These 3 sets are put together with 2 types of screws visible on each side of the case:
The 4 screws (F) with a split head are used to fix the lid onto the body of the case
and to ensure the watch is waterproof (
guarantee, these screws must never be unscrewed
The 8 socket-head screws (J and K) (Allen screw/1.3 mm diameter) are used to fix
the strap onto the fasteners and also the strap's fasteners onto the case. These
screws can be handled with care by using the 2 appropriate tools delivered with the
watch in its box.

ried out between 9 P .M. and 3 A.M.

Water resistance
guarantee perfect water resistance. For this, push the crown to position 0 by turning
clockwise simultaneously. The crown must never be handled under water.

MAINTENANCE
It is advisable to rinse the watch and its strap carefully with fresh water after
contact with sea water. It is also recommended that the water resistance of your
watch is serviced every two years. In order to guarantee a service that conforms to
the brand's requirements, any intervention on your watch must be carried out by the
Bell & Ross repair centre or a watch maker authorised by Bell & Ross. When a repair
is carried out during the guarantee period, you must present the Bell & Ross gua-
rantee card, duly dated and signed by the retailer at the time the watch was pur-
chased.
The Bell & Ross international guarantee
Your Bell & Ross watch has successfully passed the most rigorous reliability tests in the Swiss watch-making industry. It
is guaranteed against all manufacturing defects for 2 years from the date of purchase entered by the Bell & Ross appro-
ved retailer on the international guarantee certificate subject to applicable laws and/or legal guarantees. This guarantee
is total (parts and labor). It excludes however :
. Damage that is the result of accidents or improper or incorrect use of the watch (violent shock, crushing, brutal handling of
the clasp).
. Damage that is the result of repairs or dismantling not carried out by an approved Bell & Ross retailer or an approved after-
sales service center.
. The consequences of normal use and wear of the watch. It also excludes leather straps and batteries, given the specific
nature of these parts.
IMPORTANT : To be covered by the Bell & Ross International Guarantee, any work must be carried out by approved
specialists : retailers approved by Bell & Ross, approved after-sales service centers.
This guarantee can only be applied on presentation of the Bell & Ross international guarantee certificate, duly com-
pleted, dated and signed by an approved retailer.
