Chain bar treatment
Uneven wear is the cause of the most frequent problems with
the chain bar. An unauthorised treatment of cutting elements of
the chain and improper depth limiter grinding may amplify that.
If this is the case, replace the chain bar. Check the chain bar
before saw sharpening. A worn-out or damaged chain bar is
not safe and damages the chain, which is why it must not be
used!
Regular chain bar servicing
1.
Remove the chain bar off the chain saw.
2.
From time to time, remove the wood flour from the chain
bar notch. In doing so, use the glazing or wire knife.
3.
Oil grooves to be cleaned after the day when used.
4.
Remove any inequality on sides of the chain bar. Use a
blunt file for flat filing of edges.
5.
Do not fit the chain bar if bent or cracked or if the inner
rail notch is significantly worn-out.
Do not use clearing baths containing chlorine, carbon
tetrachloride or petrol. The chain bar that is to be replaced
can be received as a spare part.
Saw chain sharpening
The chain must always be sharp!
Cutting is then faster and safer. A blunt chain causes useless
wear of the chain wheel, chain bar, chain and the engine. The
chain is blunt if it needs to be pressed to the wood and the
cutting results in wood flour and some bigger fractions.
Troubleshooting
CAUTION: Unplug the chain saw before any servicing. Risk of serious injuries or death as a result of electric shock or
contact with the rotating chain.
Problem
Saw running but not cutting
Saw cutting only at high speed and it only
results in a few chippings with some bigger
fractions.
Saw running slowly and remaining
slightly jammed
Saw engine not starting after pressing the
starter
Saw engine running but not moving
Chain not being supplied with oil
Chain getting out of the
chain bar
Saw smoking
Oil leaking from the saw
Possible cause
Chain fitted the other way round on the chain
bar
Chain is blunt
Voltage is too low
Switch fuse has not been pressed to release
the starter
Extension line connection is released
Automatic fuse switch is open
Engine brushes are worn out
Electrical circuit on the saw is open
Gear wheel is defective
Oil groove on the chain bar is blocked
Oil is too dense
Chain is too loose
Chain bar and chain are fitted improperly
Saw is damaged. Do not use the saw
Oil tank cover is not closed

Saw chain changing
Change the chain if the cutting elements are too worn-out after
repeated sharpening or if the chain faces a risk of breaking. A
spare chain mentioned in these Operating Instructions to be
used only. The chain wheel must also be changed when
changing the chain. By this, the chain will be driven properly.
Do not use clearing baths containing chlorine, carbon
tetrachloride or petrol. The chain and chain wheel can be
received as a spare part and accessory equipment.
