Descaling
Cleaning the Wilfa PRECISION Coffee Maker with a descaling solution is necessary to
remove coffee residue and calcium deposits that effectively reduce the coffee maker's
performance in terms of optimal flavor and general operation.
It is recommended that this procedure is repeated every 60 days. This will ensure that you
get the most out of your Wilfa PRECISION. In regions where there is a high mineral con-
tent in the water (hard water), it is recommended that this procedure is carried out more
often than every 60 days.
Note: Failing to follow these maintenance instructions or using cleaning agents not in-
tended for coffee makers may damage the unit and invalidate the warranty.
Commercially available descaling detergent can be used for cleaning the unit. Alterna-
tively, follow the instructions below to make your own cleaning solution.
How to make your own descaling solution:
1.
Prepare the solution: Use a jug/pitcher and fill it34 oz. (1 liter) of water. Add
2 tbsp. (30 g) of citric acid to the water and mix. The cleaning solution is now
ready to be used in your coffee maker.
2.
Make sure the water reservoir is empty before starting, and then pour the
descaling mixture into the water tank.
3.
Start the machine and let it run for a complete brewing cycle.
4.
Rinse the system by adding fresh water to the water tank and run for two
more brewing cycles.
