8.2.3 Cable connection "Auxiliary contacts"

• Cut-away layout of screwless terminal (1).
• Open (2) the terminal with a screwdriver (Blade 06 x 3,5 Form A to 5264 or ISO 2380-1).
The screwdriver blade holds the CAGE CLAMP - Compact spring open so that the con-
ductor can be fed in.
• Feed in the prepared conductor (3).
• Remove the screwdriver. The conductor is securely clamped (4).
8.2.4 Protective-earth conductor connection
As a general rule, always connect to a protective earth conductor!

Commissioning / operation
Before commissioning, ensure that:
• the devices have been installed in accordance with the standards
• the equipment is not damaged
• no extraneous particles are present in the devices
• the terminal chamber is clean
• the connections have been correctly made
• the cables are inserted properly
• all bolts and nuts are tightened firmly
• the cable entries and stopping plugs are connected firmly
• unused wire lead-ins are sealed with stoppers certified as compliant with Directive
94/9/EC and unused drilled holes are sealed with stoppers certified as compliant
with Directive 94/9/EC
Maintenance socket isolator Type 8571/51has no mechanic interlok for the plug. It
should be used in conjunction with Type 8571/12 or 8578/12 plugs from R.STAHL or
commercial "non-Ex"-plugs. Make sure that the socket's hinged cover is closed with the
bayonet ring when the plug is pulled out.
