8.2.2 Lead connection
When routing in and connecting cable and leads, make sure that only cables and glands are
used which are specially tested and certified in accordance with the EC-Type Examination Cer-
tificate.
Unused entry holes are to be sealed with stopping plugs specially tested and certified in accor-
dance with the EC-Type Examination Certificate.
Excessive pulling on the components can negatively influence the explosion protection.
1 or 2 leads can be connected into a connection terminal. If single-wire leads are employed, both
leads must possess identical cross-sections as well as be manufactured of the same material.
The leads may be connected without performing any preparatory work

• Open the terminal chamber cover.
• Guide the lead through the cable entry and into the terminal chamber.
• Remove the insulation jacket from the lead end.
• Clamp the stripped lead end of the wire to the corresponding terminal clamp.
ATTENTION: The stripped lead ends must be completely inserted under the terminal
clamping plate!
• Correctly orient the leads. The terminal clamps must not be subjected to tension (pulling
forces).
• Tighten the cap nut of the cable entry.
• Carefully replace the enclosure cover and screw it in place.
