5.9 Switching on the device

Electric shock hazard when devices are damaged
Using a damaged device may result in an electric shock.
f Do not use the device if it is damaged.
f Mark the damaged device to ensure that no one contin-
ues using it.
f Eliminate the damage immediately.
f Take the device out of service if necessary.
Precondition:
„ The device is installed in compliance with the applica-
ble national regulations.
„ Device is correctly installed and connected.
„ Device is in a proper condition.
„ Device is locked and the key is kept out of reach of
unauthorized persons.
f Switching on the power supply
The configuration is described in the installation manual

6. Servicing

6.1

Using a damaged device may result in an electric shock.
f Do not use the device if it is damaged.
f Mark the damaged device to ensure that no one contin-
ues using it.
f Have a qualified electrician rectify the damage immedi-
ately.
f Have an electrician take the device out of service if
necessary.
Regular inspection and maintenance support the trouble-
free, safe operation of the device and help to increase the
service life.
This allows early detection of possible error sources and
prevents hazards.
Defects found on the device must be eliminated immedi-
ately by a qualified electrician.
f Check the device regularly for operational readiness,
external damage and secure fastening.
Examples of damage:
„ Defective enclosure (e.g. severe deformation, cracks,
heat damage)
„ Defective or missing components (e.g. missing enclo-
sure cover).
„ Illegible or missing signs.
A maintenance contract with a responsible ser-
vice partner guarantees regular tests.
Spare parts
If replacement or accessory parts are necessary for trou-
bleshooting, these must first be checked for uniformity of
design.
f Use only spare parts and accessories that are provided
and / or approved by MENNEKES.
