Storage
Always store oxygen sensors in a wet environment! Place the sensor in a storage
!
flask filled with distilled water or in a vessel containing water. Never use the KOH
solution for storage! After a long period of storage, the membrane must be
cleaned carefully to remove any deposits (e.g. algae or bacteria) using a soft
paper towel.

5.7 Salinity correction

As the salinity (salt content) increases, the solubility of oxygen in the water decreases,
i.e. fewer mg of oxygen are dissolved per litre of water at the same partial pressure of oxygen.
To determine this oxygen concentration, the salinity of the medium must first be entered into
the configuration menu (<SEt PArA> SAL). The salinity correction is adapted to aqueous media
that have a chemical composition equivalent to seawater. The International Oceanographic
Tables (IOT) are used as the basis for the salinity correction. If salinity correction is active,
an indicator arrow appears above SAL ( ) on the display.

5.8 Ambient pressure during dissolved oxygen measurement

The air pressure ratios at the place of measurement play a major role in:
• The calculation of the O
• The calculation of the O
• The evaluation of the calibration
An integrated air pressure sensor is used to continuously measure the ambient pressure and
compensate it for the calculation.

6 Data logger

The instrument has two different logger functions for recording data:
• "Func-Stor": manual recording of measurement values by button press. A measuring
location entry (L ID) is also required.
• "Func-CYCL": automatic recording of measurement values at intervals of the set
cycle time.
The record is made up of the following information:
• Measurement value of the O
• Measurement value of the O
• Measurement value of the absolute pressure (hPa)
• Measurement value of the temperature (°C / °F)
• Measuring location L ID (only with "Func-Stor")
• Time and date at the time of saving
i
The real-time clock is required for the chronological assignment of logger data
and calibration times. The settings under <SEt InSt> should therefore
be checked if necessary
