The meter SM-4 serves for sound level meas-
urement. With the meter e. g. the frequency re-
sponse of an audio system, the efficiency, and
the sound radiation of speakers or the noise level
in rooms can be determined. To be able to con-
sider the human hearing characteristics, a
weighting filter can be switched on.

Setting into Operation

1) Set the red range switch (6) to the mid-posi-
tion "Lo".
2) An indication is displayed (2). If not, four 1.5 V
batteries (size AAA) have to be inserted. If the

3) To mount the meter on a stand, exchange the
recessed head screw on the rear side for the

Measuring the Sound Level

1) For the basic adjustment, set each of the three
