3. Filter cartridge and tip installation instructions:
A. Remove existing tip and old filter. Replace existing "O"-ring if needed.
B. Make sure the probe is clean. Blow both ends out with air pressure if
possible.
C. Install new filter cartridge on to the probe, as pictured Fig.9, with "pointed"
end of the raised ribs toward tip.
D. Screw the new tip on (with new "O"-ring in place on the threads). The filter
cartridge should be snug against both "O" rings.
4. Filter cleaning instructions:
During operation, if the filter becomes blocked with liquid, the pump will
sound like it is laboring, and normally all of the LED's will light up, and the
alarm will sound. If this occurs, the filter is easily cleared:
A. Turn the unit off to avoid the possibility of liquid getting inside the unit.
B. Remove the tip and filter and tap both ends of the filter cartridge directly
on a clean hard surface, several times, until all of the liquid is removed.
Also make sure the tip is clear of liquid or grease.
C. Turn the unit back on. If the pump sounds normal, it is ready for use.
Otherwise replace the filter.
Extremely contaminated filter cartridges can be washed under running water.
After rinsing, tap it from both ends on a clean hard surface to remove all
droplets of water. Alcohol can also be used.
5. If dirt, oil, grease, etc... is visible on the probe tip it can be cleaned by rinsing
it in a mild solvent such as denatured alcohol. Make certain that the tip dries
completely before replacing.
Note: The filter does not have to be thoroughly dried out before using it again.
6. Replace the probe tip by firmly grasping both the probe and the tip and
rotating the tip clockwise until finger tight.
CAUTION: NEVER operate the unit without the probe tip and filter
properly installed. Filter and sensor contamination, erratic performance
and other problems may occur.
GENERAL CARE
Take care not to obstruct the charging port or speaker outlet grill (right hand side
above the rubber grip) with dirt or grease. If it becomes necessary to clean the
unit use only a soft cloth dampened with a mild soap to wipe down the body and
probe.
The unit is a precision electronic device. Avoid extreme mechanical shock, expo-
sure to strong magnetic fields and extreme temperatures. Never immerse the
probe tip or any part of the unit into liquids of any sort.
