12. Maintenance

Regularly check the technical safety of the PA system, e.g. for damage to the mains cable or the casing.
If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immediately and make
sure it is not unintentionally operated. Pull the mains plug from the mains socket!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
• there is visible damage to the device or to the mains cable
• the device no longer works
• the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for an extended period of time or
• after exposure to extraordinary stress caused by transport
Always observe the following safety information before cleaning or servicing the PA system:
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or components are removed.
The device must be disconnected from all power sources before any servicing or repair work is
carried out.
Capacitors inside the device may still carry voltage even though they have been disconnected from
all power sources.
Only qualified experts familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant regulations must perform
repairs.
a) Fuse Replacement
If the fuse must be replaced, observe that only fuses of the indicated type and rated current (see Technical Data)
must be used.
Never repair fuses or bridge the fuse holder.
• After mains disconnection (pull the mains plug!), pull the mains cable from the mains connection (14) at the device.
Lever out the fuse holder at the mains connection (14) with the defective fuse.
• Remove the defective fuse and replace it with a fuse of the same type.
• Now carefully re-insert the fuse holder with the new fuse.
• Only then connect the mains line to the device again and plug into a mains socket.
b) Cleaning
The outside of the PA system components should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth or a brush only. Never use any
aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these may damage the surface of the casing.
