Users manual
1. General
Your MT830L is a professional digital multimeter with 3 ½ digit LCD display,
driven by a 9V battery. The meter meets the IEC1010 standard and is an
ideal tool for professional and private use. It measures or tests AC/DC vol-
tage, DC current, resistance, diode and continuity. Before operation, plea-
se carefully read the operation manual.
2. Safety instructions
Please make sure that you follow these safety instructions:
- Never apply voltages that exceed 600VDC or AC 600Vrms.
- Do not input current higher than 10A.
- When measuring voltages higher than 36VDC or 25VAC, please check the
insulation of the testing leads to avoid electric shocks.
- Remove the test leads when changing function and range.
- Do not input voltage when measuring in current, resistance or continuity
test function.
- Remove the test leads and turn off the meter before changing the battery
and fuse.
3. Measuring
3.1. General
- If you are not sure about the correct range of a measurement, please
switch the range key to the highest range. Switch to a lower range accor-
ding to the displayed value.
- If the LCD displays '1' you have to switch to a higher range.
3.2. Voltage measurement
- Connect the black test lead (-) to the COM jack and the red test lead (-)
to the VΩ jack.
- Select the range and function (V
for VDC and V
for VAC).
- Connect the test leads parallel across the voltage to be measured.
- The measured voltage is now displayed. If the red test lead is connected
