BASIC INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Required tools:

• flat tip and Phillips screwdrivers
• hose of suitable length and the same diameter as the hose of existing filter circuit (for connection of the panel with the filter circuit)
The principle of installation of the solar heating using hoses is illustrated in the figure on the title page.
Select a suitable area near the pool (see above). Remove all sharp objects from the area.
If you decided to place the heating freely on the supplied support legs, fit them into the holes on the bottom of the panel on the side of the caps for the panel tube (passing tubes without a
plug in the middle) (FIG. 1)
Important: The caps must be installed on the through pipe, otherwise the solar panel will not work.
After the above described steps, install the panel itself.
1) Assemble the panel. Screw the transition piece (2.9) with silicon O-rings (2.8) onto the solar
panel pipes.WE RECOMMEND TO APPLY A THIN LAYER OF THE SUPPLIED LUBRICANT ON
THE FRONT SEALING SURFACE OF THE SOLAR PANEL PIPE (1), IT WILL PREVENT EVENTUAL
LEAKAGES. Fit the hose pins (FIG. 2) and caps (FIG. 3) onto the transition pieces. One of the
panel pipes has a plug in the middle, use the hose pins on this pipe, fit caps to the other pipe.
2) Connect the manual bypass (4), if available, with the hose pins of the panel. Make the
connection using hoses and hose couplers (3) - see FIG. 4.
3) Switch the filtration off and pull its power cable from the outlet.
4) Plug or secure the input and output line by another suitable method, so the water from the
filtration or the pool cannot spill out after disconnection of the hoses. Remove the filtration
output hose from form the return nozzle.
5) Connect the filtration output hose with the hose pin on one side of the manual bypass (4).
6) Use a new hose to connect the remaining hose pin of the manual bypass (4) with the pool's
return nozzle.
7) Check the hose connections and tighten the hose couplings (3).
8) Remove the caps fitted in point 5, so the filtration passable.
Now the solar system is ready for operation.
Notes:
• Install the manual bypass as close to the filtration as possible. You will make the filtration circuit shorter and maximize the filtration capacity when you are only filtering or vacuuming.
• The heating is not perfectly efficient in horizontal or perfectly vertical installation, because its surface exposed to the sun is smaller.
• If the heating system is installed on a support, roof etc., the connecting hoses to the filtration and the pool have to be secured, so they do not load the hose pins and heating by the weight of the
water column inside the hose. Excessive strain means a risk of damage of the heating or breaking of the hoses.
• When using support:
• The support has to be oriented to the sun as best as possible, with incline of 30-45°.
• DO NOT PUT THE SUPPORT CLOSE TO THE POOL, SO CHILDREN OR ANIMALS CANNOT CLIMB IT TO ENTER THE POOL.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

Start-Up
First check, please, whether the solar system is properly connected to the filter unit and to the pool.
1) Check all connections for tightness and strength. Bleed the filtration unit according to the relevant instruction for use.
2) If the manual bypass is in use check, whether its valve setting allows water to pass through the panel.
3) Turn the pump on and check the installation for leaks.
4) Air bubbles will come out from the return nozzle immediately after the pump has been switched on. It is quite common and indicates the solar panel system is being filled with water. As soon
as air is expelled from both the panel and the return line, the formation of bubbles will cease.
Note: In certain types of installation the solar panel will require air bleeding. Ask someone for assistance. Loosen the highest coupling or cap, switch the filtration on and wait until the air escapes
and water starts to flow. Then, quickly tighten the connection.
Operation
1) Leave the filtration unit and the solar heater in operation for all the time the panel is sunlit. The longer the time, the more heat is transferred to the pool water.
2) In case the solar system, together with the filter unit, is left in operation at a low ambient temperature (in the night, for instance), the temperature of water will decrease. If it is the case, open
the manual bypass valve to put the solar panel out of operation.
3) Taking account of the preceding paragraph the solar panel should be put out of operation overnight by opening the manually operated bypass valve. It is also recommendable to cover the pool
with a solar blanket for that time to reduce unnecessary heat loss.
4) Do not use the solar panel, if the pool water temperature exceeds 30 °C. Such warm water will not have any refreshing effect and, moreover, creates favourable conditions for the growth of
algae. In addition, there may be temperature limitations for certain pool components, for instance the foils of foil pools can get soft and loose firm shape.
