1. Field of application
The Suction Cup Lifters are used for lifting, carrying and holding objects with planar, airtight
surfaces. Other applications are not permitted.
2. Safety measures
Suction Cup Lifters are hand tools and must not be used with a crane or other lifting
equipment.
Although everything was done to ensure maximum safety when using the suction cup lifter,
abuse or misapplication may damage the suction cups or lead to dangerous situations (e.g.
unexpected release of a load) and the associated danger for the user or other persons.
Please observe the following rules to achieve a high level of safety when using the suction
cup lifter.
Never use the suction cup lifter as a support for people.
Only use the suction cup lifter when you are experienced in its use or when you are
under supervision of a person with experience in using this tool.
There is different types of suction cup lifters with different load capacity.
The values indicated are for new suction cup lifters and clean, dry and planar glass
panes (float glass) in ambient temperature of 20°C and an ambient pressure of 1.013
mbar after having produced the largest possible vacuum.
Please note that the air pressure decreases with increasing altitude above sea level and
thus the payload is also reduced.
In case of cold, humidity or pollution, especially in case of untended or damaged suction
surface, as well as when lifting or carrying other material than flat glass (e.g. structural
glass, plastic, stone, metal etc.) the holding force is significantly reduced and can even
result in a total loss of it.
Check in all cases whether the suction cup lifter is suitable for the intended application.
Please make sure that you back the objects to be lifted several times if necessary.
Follow the instructions in this operational manual.
Suction cup lifters must not be exposed to extreme heat (e.g. open fire, permanent direct
sunlight) for a longer period of time. Temperatures of permanently over approx. 80°C are
to be strictly avoided.
3. Function description
The forming of the vacuum has a force acting on the suction surface of the object. This
force can be further increased during use. It is the duty of care of the user to ensure that
this does not have damages arise (e.g. glass breakage in thin glass or bending of thin
sheets).
It has also to be ensured that the surface to be sucked is suitable to receive the suction
force application (e.g. carrying at the housing, holding of devices). In case of suction pads
with a rocker lever the vacuum is created by flipping the lever.
4. Handling
Make sure that the suction cup lifter is in good functionality each time you want to use
it. Please pay special attention to the rubber pad: this has to be undamaged and without
cracks.
