Safety
Before you operate the transmitter, attach the enclosed telescopic transmitter ae-
rial. Insert it into the top of the transmitter and tighten it carefully. Before use,
always extend the aerial to its full length. After use, collapse it fully. Before swit-
ching on your transmitter, always check that the throttle control stick is at mini-
mum position, i.e. in throttle closed position before you switch on the receiver.
Always switch on the transmitter before the receiver. After use, switch off the re-
ceiver, followed by the transmitter. Warning! Failure to observe these procedures
may lead to unintentional motor operation with potential risk of injury to people
and/or models and equipment!
Power Supply
8 AA size alkaline batteries are required. Your Nova 6 is also designed for Nicad/ NiMh
battery operation. Remove the cover of the battery compartment. Insert dry batteries or
Nicad/ NiMh single cells paying careful attention to the polarity. Close the battery cover.
Charging
Nicad/ NiMh batteries can be charged via the factory-fi tted charge socket. Transmitter
Nicads/ NiMh must be recharged as soon as the voltage display moves into the yellow
area. During charging the transmitter must be switched off!
Warning! When charging transmitter Nicads, the maximum charge current of 1 A must
not be exceeded!
Mode 2 to Mode 1 Conversion
Throttle operation can be moved from the left hand (Mode 2) to the right hand stick unit
(Mode 1) quite easily. If you wish to use the other stick for the throttle function, proceed
as follows (see appendix for detailed instructions):
- Remove batteries
- Loosen screws on the rear and open casing and remove it
- Move the throttle ratchet from the left to the right stick unit.
- Unscrew the upper spring retainer on the gimbal stick unit and take the spring
out by using tweezers.
- Take out neutralization lever, the spring and spring retainer and fi t them into
the other stick unit.
- Reconnect the spring to the upper spring retainer. Now the left forward/
backward stick is self neutralizing and the right stick can be used as throttle
stick or for helicopters as forward/ backward pitch control stick.
- Reattach the rear transmitter housing.
