10. Troubleshooting
10.1 Red LED (A) flashing
• 1 flash every 30 seconds indicates need to replace alkaline batteries.
• 2 flashes every 30 seconds indicates cleaning required (See Section 8).
• Random flashing indicates changes in light level or need to clean cat flap (See
Section 8).
10.2 Flap does not open in response to programmed I.D. Disc or microchip
• Check 4 WAY lock is set to permit access in the chosen direction.
• Check catch (D, Fig. 1) moves freely up and down.
• Clean cat detector lenses and tunnel (See Section 8).
• Check batteries are correctly orientated (Fig. 3) and not in need of replacement
(See Section 6).
• Check I.D. Disc is correctly fitted to cat's collar.
• If possible, try operation with another programmed I.D. Disc / microchip to
ascertain if there is a fault with a particular I.D. Disc / microchip.
• Check cat flap is mounted at correct height (See Section 9).
• If all else fails, remove one battery and wait a minimum of 5 minutes. Refit
battery and then check if flap functions correctly. If not perform a FACTORY
RESET (See Section 7) before reprogramming (See Section 3).
