Remote environment probe SA connections (optional)
Connect an NTC 10 K @ 25°C beta 3435 probe to the SA connector. Order P/N 753000 for an air
temperature probe to be positioned externally or P/N 666970 to measure the internal air o P/N
742840 to measure water temperature.Probe 753000 can operate with external temperature
from – 200 to + 70 degrees Celsius with an I.P. protection grade of 65.
6. Preliminary steps
6.1
Preparation of the SIM Card
• Confirm with your reseller/provider that the selected SIM card is compatible with GSM-
GPRS-2G systems.
• Insertion and removal of the SIM Card must always take place without electrical power
connected. Otherwise the SIM CARD reader interface inside the GSM module could be
damaged.
• The SIM card's PIN code must be disabled, otherwise the LX-GSM-01 dialler cannot be activ-
ated. Carry out this operation using a normal mobile telephone.
• Remove all telephone numbers in the contacts list. Carry out this operation using a normal
mobile telephone.
• If you do not know the telephone number associated with the SIM CARD, make a telephone
call to another telephone.
• Disable the voicemail feature.
6.2
Insertion of the SIM Card
• The SIM reader is located inside the equipment on the upper part and can be accessed
only by first removing the transparent plastic cover. Use a small screw driver to remove this
cover.
• The correctly inserted SIM card must appear as illustrated in figure 4:
• Open the SIM slot drawer, sliding it 2-3 mm toward the CN4 connector. Once the drawer is
released it tilts open allowing the SIM card to be inserted in the guides.
• Position the SIM taking care to respect the direction: contacts downward and diagonally cut
corner in direction illustrated in figure 4.
• IMPORTANT: Insertion or removal of the SIM Card must always take place with the equip-
ment NOT powered. Reconnect the power supply only once the operation has been com-
pleted.
