B)
USE
These components are designed exclusively for lower limb prosthesis. They are appropriate for patients weighing
(carried load included) less than :
- 100 kg for 1K15001
- 150 kg for 1K155 and 1K183
C)
CONNECTIONS (Fig.2)
The 1K15001 and 1K155 adjustable threaded extension pieces and the 1K183 female pyramid connector can be
assembled :
- at their threaded end 1a, to any tapped component (A) M36x1.5
- at their end 1b, to any male pyramid component (B).
D)
WHICH LENGTH SHOULD BE CUT WHEN USING 1K15002 OR 1K184 (Fig.3)
(1K183 : not applicable)
•
Determine the build height of the product according to its location in the prosthesis (this dimension will
be called Y).
•
Screw the threaded extension piece 1K15001 or 1K155 into the tapped sleeve 1K15002 or 1K184
until you reach the threaded root.
•
Mesure dimension X.
•
The length to be cut will be calculated as follows : Length to be cut = X-Y.
E)
CUTTING TO LENGTH THE THREADED EXTENSION PIECE (Fig.4)
Using the 5C413 cutting tool is highly recommended
to cut the threaded extension piece to length
Caution : The cutting tool is 12 mm thick. This thickness is the minimal length of the re-cut
threaded piece. NEVER re-cut the threaded piece shorter than 12 mm because the component
would get fragile.
•
Screw the threaded extension piece (1) into the 5C413 cutting tool so that the extension piece pro-
trudes from side F by the length that should be cut.
•
Install the assembled threaded extension piece and cutting tool into a vice and firmly tighten the jaws
to lock the threaded extension piece.
•
Use a hacksaw to cut the threaded extension piece (1) along side F of the 5C413 cutting tool.
•
Loosen the jaws of the vice and remove the assembled threaded extension piece and cutting tool
from the vice.
•
Unscrew the threaded extension piece and remove it from the cutting tool.
F)
ANGULATION ADJUSTMENT (Fig.5)
a) Adjust angulation with the 4 screws (2) and a 4 mm hex wrench.
ONLY FOR 1K15001
b) Secure screwing by applying Proteor XC047 adhesive on these screws.
c) Thighten the screws up to 15Nm.
G)
RECYCLING
•
1K15001: The threaded extension piece is in aluminium alloy and the screws in galvanized steel.
Each of these components should be recycled according to the laws in force.
•
1K155 and 1K183: The threaded extension piece and the rotating pyramid receiver are in stainless
steel and the screws in galvanized steel. Each of these components should be
recycled according to the laws in force.
