Introduction
CleanAIR is a system for airways protection which
works on an overpressure basis. The powered respira-
tory unit worn on a belt blows air through a filter and a
hose into a safety hood or a safety mask. The stream
of filtered air forms slight positive pressure inside the
headtop which prevents inleakage of harmful pollutants
from environment air to the breathing zone of the user.
Due to such air supply the user is guaranteed
com-fortable breathing without having to get over the
breathing resistance of the filters.
To ensure efficient protection, it is necessary to
choose a suitable combination of a powered respira-
tory unit and protective headtop. It is also important to
use the right filters of the same type.
The powered respiratory unit CleanAIR CHEMICAL
3F meets the standards of EN 12941/A2 and 12942/
A2. It provides protection against non-toxic and toxic
particles and harmful gases according to the filters you
use.
See picture index for a list of headtops.
The powered respiratory unit CleanAIR CHEMICAL
2F meets the standards of EN 12941, EN 12942. It
provides protection against non-toxic as well as toxic
particles and harmful gases according to the filters you
use.
See picture index for a list of headtops.

Instructions for use
Please read the „Manual for use" carefully and follow
the considerations for users. The user must be perfect-
ly familiarized with the correct way of using his protecti-
ve device and must understand its limitations.
Please read the cautionary instructions and keep them
as reference.
• Oxygen concentration in the working area must not
drop to less than 17%.
• The user must know the kind of contamination and
its concentration in the environment air.
• The powered respiratory unit must not be used in
confined spaces, e.g. closed reservoirs, tanks or
containers, tunnels, canals, ducts.
• It is forbidden to use the powered respiratory unit in
explosive environment.
• Use the powered respiratory unit only if it is switched
on.
• Each time before using the powered respiratory unit
check if the airflow is sufficient.
• If the powered respiratory unit stops working
properly for any reason, the user must leave the
contaminated area promptly.
• As for the filtration systems with a hood, when the
CleanAIR unit is switched off, the protection of the
airways is small or even none. The increase of
carbon dioxide concentration and decrease of
oxygen concentration inside the hood is also
possible if the unit is switched off.
• During strenuous work negative pressure might
develop inside the hood during breathing in and thus
decrease the protection factor.
• The headtop (either hood or mask) must be
properly sealed to the face to ensure perfect pro-
tection. If long hair or hairs of a beard get into the
sealing line, the inleakage will increase and the
protection provided by the system will decrease.
• Note that the air hose connecting the powered
respiratory unit and the headtop can make a loop
and can get caught on protruding objects nearby.
The powered respiratory unit CA Chemical provides
protection against solid and liquid particals as well as
against gases and vapours always depending on the
type of filters you use.
It is vitally important to choose appropriate filters for
different kinds of contamination. Follow the instruc-
tions in the Manual for Using Filters.
• Filters destined for trapping solid and liquid
par-ticles do not protect the user from any gases.
• Filters destined for trapping gases do not protect the
user from any particles.
