Clearance check
With bed knife retaining screws tightened to the above specification, check knife clea-
rance by cutting and scoring films of known thickness across the full knife length. Optimum
resharpened cutting clearances are dependent upon cutter/granulator model and grinding
procedure:

If clearances vary from specifications, loosen all three bed knife retaining screws roughly
1/4 turn and re-adjust knife as necessary.
IMPORTANT: Only adjust bed knife with all three retaining screws turn loose.Only check
clearances (and operate cutter) with screws tightened to 40 Nm (29 ft-lb)

Pre-ground knives often give a slightly different clearance for each rotor knife: ad
just the bed knife to score 0.025 mm (1-mil) film on the closer rotor knife, leaving
the clearance slightly greater on the other knife.
