Basic principles

Short description

Connect the provided power supply unit to the BT 500 (not neccessary when battery is
available). Now please press the power switch (ON/OFF). The device will check its own
functions and sensors.
Within this time no banknote should be placed on the hopper.
After the self test is finished, you can see „0" in the display.
Now banknotes can be checked.
Please take care of the correct insertion of the banknotes (see sticker on
device): Direction, on the left side and straight.
Please never place more than one banknote on the hopper at one time.
Now please place the banknote on the hopper as mentioned before.
The device will transport the banknote automatically for testing inside the machine - if
there is detected a genuine bill, the value of the bill will be shown on the display and the
value will be added to the total amount. Banknotes detected as genuine will be put out
of the BT 500 in selected direction.
If a suspect note is detected or a bill is not recognized correctly, the bill will be feeded back
to the hopper (back to your hand). The according error message will be shown on the
display (e.g. CF1, CF2, ...) the detector will sound „beep". Please repeat the inspection
operation once or twice, as caused by imprecise insertion of the bill a mismeasurement can
appear.
For selecting the direction of sending out real banknotes please press the key
„CLEAR/DIRECTION" for about 3 seconds, till the „beep" will sound. The selected
direction is shown in the display (arrows).
For clearing the result (total amount), please press the „CLEAR/DIRECTION".
For changing the currency, please press the „REPORT/CURRENCY" - key for about 2 or 3
senconds. In the display you can see the activated currency for checking.
For checking the number of banknotes of each single denomination, press the „REPORT/
CURRENCY" - key. You can see the selected denomination and the number of detected
notes in the display now.
If the BT 500 is equipped with battery, it´s stored on the bottom of the machine.
The battery must be charged by the original AC/DC adapter only.
