PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTION CAREFULLY
BEFORE OPERATING THE UNIT
POWER SUPPLY
Installing batteries
1. Remove the battery compartment door by applying thumb pressure to area indicated on
battery door and then lift the door out and off the cabinet.
2. Before inserting the batteries, observe the polarities (+ and -) of the battery, then
relate the polarities to the engraved diagram inside the battery compartment. Install
4 x C/R14/UM2 size batteries to battery compartment.
3. Replace the compartment door.
Battery precautions
Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:
1. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the
battery compartment. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.
3. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline an Carbon-Zinc) or old
batteries with fresh ones.
4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent
damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can over heat and
rupture.
6. Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
Before throwing any batteries away, consult your distributor who may be able to
take them back for specific recycling.
Note:
- The AC cord must be unplugged from both the jack on the unit and the power outlet for
the unit to run on the batteries.
- When the AC cord is connected from the main unit to the power outlet, the power
source automatically switches to AC. You may leave the batteries inside the unit if you
wish. There is no battery consumption when the AC cord is connected to a power outlet
and/or the the unit.
Connecting power cord
1. Connect the detachable AC cord (included) to the AC socket on the rear of the unit.
2. Plug the power cord into 230V~50Hz AC outlet.
RADIO OPERATION
1. Press ON/OFF (1) to switch on the unit.
2. Slide the BAND button (6) to switch to the desired broadcast band (FM/SW/LW/MW).
3. Turn the TUNING knob (2) to select a station.
4. Adjust the volume level by the VOLUME knob (3).

SAFETY INFORMATION
• Clean the player with a soft cloth, or a damp chamois leather. Never use solvents.
• Make sure that you keep your set away from water and high temperatures.
• Do not use your system immediately after transporting it from a cold place to a warm place,
as condensation may cause the system to malfunction.
• To prevent personal injury, do not reverse any batteries and do not mix battery types.
• The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
• No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
• Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
• The rating plate is located at the bottom cabinet of apparatus.
• Do not throw batteries in fire!
• The disconnect devices is the mains plug of apparatus. To be completely disconnect the
power input, the mains plug of apparatus shall be disconnected from the mains.The
mains plug of apparatus should not be obstructed OR should be easily accessed during
intended use.
• Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearingloss.
• Minimum distances 5 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilations.
• The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items
such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains etc.
• Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
• The use of apparatus in moderate climates.

5. You may lengthen the antenna located at the top of the unit for better reception of SW/
FM stations. For LM or MW stations, you may try rotating the unit to get better reception.
6. Press ON/OFF button (1) again to switch off the radio.
USING HEADPHONES / EARPHONES
Maximum output voltage ≤ 150mV
HEADPHONE VOLUME WARNING
Connect earphones with the volume set low and increase it if required. Prolonged listening
through some earphones at high volume settings can result in hearing damage. When
headphones/earphones are connected, no sound will be emitted from the unit's speaker.
Caution: Avoid listening to sound at levels which may be harmful to your ears.
To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for
long periods.
CONNECTING THE AUX
Connect your auxiliary source (e.g. mp3 player) to the AUX input jack on the right side of
the unit, the unit will change to AUX function automatically.
