1 Mains cable
2 Socket for the dimmer output
WARNING Even if the output voltage is reduced,
a dangerous mains voltage may be
present at the socket. Therefore, prior
to connecting lamps or working at the
lamps, disconnect the DP-1DMX in
any case from the 230 V mains!
3 Fuse holder for protecting the dimmer output; only
replace a blown fuse by one of the same type!
4 Indication: fuse defective
5 4-digit LED display to indicate the DMX address
and the operating modes:
d: dimmer operation
S: switch operation
A: DMX address
L: DMX dimmer: upper light limitation
P: manual dimmer
A flashing point in the upper left corner shows
when a DMX signal has been received.
6 Button MENU to select the operating modes
7 Button
to increase the value; with the button
pressed, the value will be increased continuously
8 Button
to reduce the value; with the button
pressed, the value will be reduced continuously
9 DMX output: XLR, 3-pole
1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
10 DMX input: XLR, 3-pole
1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+

2 Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit is supplied with hazardous
mains voltage (230 V~). Never make
any modifications on the unit not de-
scribed in this instruction manual. Inex-
pert handling may cause an electric
shock hazard.
It is essential to observe the following items:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g. drink-
ing glasses, on the unit.

3 Applications

The DP-1DMX is a 1-channel dimmer for effective illu-
mination, e. g. on stage or in the discothèque. It can
manually be operated or be controlled via a DMX con-
trol unit. An operation as a switch or as a dimmer with
adjustable power limitation is possible. Due to its com-
pact design it can also be mounted very close to the
lamp.
Do not set the unit into operation, or immediately
disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the unit or to the mains
cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The unit must in any case be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the mains
plug from the mains socket, always seize the plug.
A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
the manufacturer or by authorized, skilled person-
nel.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
water or chemicals.
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly connect-
ed, operated, or not repaired in an expert way.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
If the unit is to be put out of operation de-
finitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
