DVM1322 – DIGITAL THERMOMETER
1. Introduction
The DVM1322 is a compact and portable digital thermometer with a 3 ½ digit LCD. It is
designed for use with an external K-type thermocouple. The temperature indications are in
accordance with IEC584. The latter pertains to temperature/voltage tables for K-type
thermocouples. Two "K"-thermocouples are supplied.
2. Safety
- Do not measure voltages in excess of 24VAC or 60VDC in order to avoid electroshocks.
- Do not perform measurements in a microwave oven in order to avoid burns.
Do not bend the leads of the thermocouples at sharp angles, especially close to the connector.
Doing so repeatedly may cause the leads to break.
The
symbol on the instrument indicates that the user should refer to the manual for further
details.
3. Operation
a) Selecting the Unit of Temperature
The readings are displayed in either ° C or ° F. When the device is activated, it will be set to that
unit of temperature that was last used. Press the F/C key to change the unit of temperature.
b) Temperature Read-Out : Single Input
The thermometer displays the temperature of the thermocouple that is connected to the
selected input. Press T1 or T2 to view the temperature of the thermocouple connected to the
T1- or T2-input. The number of the input currently in use will appear on the display ("T1" or
"T2").
c) Temperature Read-Out : Two Inputs
Differential temperature measurement is selected by pressing the T1-T2 key. The DVM1322 will
now display the difference in temperature between the two thermocouples (the temperature of
thermocouple T1 - the temperature of thermocouple T2). The "T1-T2"-symbol appears on the
LCD.
d) "Data–Hold"-mode
Press the HOLD-key to activate the Data-Hold mode : the "D-H"-symbol appears on the display.
When the "Data-Hold" mode is engaged, the thermometer freezes the readings for the selected
input (T1, T2 or T1-T2) and all further measurements are temporarily suspended. Press "HOLD"
again to deactivate the "Data-Hold"-mode. The device will now resume its measurements.
