a) Safety instructions
These operating instructions for oil level indicators of the HCFE series are
intended for design engineers of plants and machinery, as well as for assembly
and repair staff.
WARNING:
Disregarding the safety instructions may cause death or severe injuries.
CAUTION:
Disregarding the safety instructions may cause material damage or injuries.
b) Intended use, range of application
The level indicators of the HCFE series are intended for the installation in
mechanical industrial containers aimed to places liable to be endangered by
explosive atmospheres.
WARNING:
it must be ensured that the intended use concerning the area of application
(pressure, temperature, fluids or gases, category, temperature class) is
observed. Avoid negative pressure.
CAUTION:
the indicator or the sealing.
c) 94/9/EC Directive compliance
The level indicators of the HCFE series comply with Healt and Safety
Requirements intended in 94/9/EC European Directive for equipments in
Group II, category 2GD (see Declaration of Conformity in these instructions).
Level indicators have "k" protection degree and can therefore be mounted
in equipments protected by means of "immersion in liquid", without lowering
protection degree.
d) Identification
ATEX identification is marked on the surface of the article.
EC-identification
CE
e) Definition for identification according to ATEX product Directive 94/9/
EC
Ex: identification for explosion protection pursuant to directive 94/9/EC
II: equipment group II (places liable to be endangered by explosive atmospheres).
2: identification of the category
G: potentially explosive atmospheres through gases, vapors or mist
D: potentially explosive atmospheres through dust/air mixtures
k: protection degree by means of immersion in liquid
IIB: materials group (only for HCFE.20)
T6: temperature class
Ambient and/or fluid temperature: -30 ÷ +85 °C
f) Description of the product
HCFE indicators are supplied
in the sizes 12, 15 and 20.
HCFE indicators are made
of the following materials:
- Body: PA-T based technopolymer;
- Sealing: NBR

g) Operating pressure
WARNING:
below at max temperature. Max pressure values are given considering the
indicator mounted on a level surface (without gasket seat). Having a proper
seat on the mounting surface allows higher max pressure values.
h) Assembly and operation
1. Carry out visual inspection for damage.
2. Take care that the contact surface of the seal is level and produced
thoroughly, as well as rectangular to tapped hole.
3. The indicator has a right-hand thread, use appropriate tool to tighten, observing
recommended tightening torque values below to ensure perfect sealing.

i) Disassembly
Entire plant must be switched to pressureless.
Use appropriate tool to avoid damages.
j) Maintenance
Level indicators of the HCFE series are maintenance-free. Carry out periodical
inspections for integrity or tightening.
In case of leakage replace the indicator.
k) Waste disposal
Indicators of the HCFE series comply with European Directives ROHS, WEEE
and ELV.
l) Warranty and liability
The legal warranty and liability provisions apply.
