CAUTION:
If there is excessive condensate during normal operation
check the sealings of the switch cabinet.
We recommend that you install a door contact switch to
switch off the cooling unit, when the door of the switch cabinet
is opened, in order to prevent excessive condensate.

Installation
8.1
General
•
The installation place for the switch cabinet must be selected
such that proper ventilation of the cooling unit is ensured.
•
Units must be a minimum of 200 mm from the nearest wall. If
the units are mounted next to one another, the separation between
the units must also be at least 200 mm.
•
Air circulation in the switch cabinet must not be impeded (for
example by built-in parts, additional fans etc.)
•
The assembly of the cooling unit can be carried out with and
without a cover. (The unit must be disconnected from the
power supply!)
•
The site of installation must be protected against contamination.
CAUTION: Chips may damage the switch cabinet.
If the required cutouts are only made in the switch cabinet
just before mounting of the cooling unit, make sure that
swarf is not allowed to enter the device hood by using a
cover sheet, for example.
CAUTION:
Danger due to improper condensate drainage.
Assemble the cooling unit horizontally.
The condensate drainage hose must be inclined downward
without showing a bend. The max. length is 3 m. Regularly
check during operation whether condensate is properly
drained.
1) Make cutout(s) and drillings for the cooling unit, if not already
provided in the switch cabinet (see drawing on accompanying
supplement sheet).
2) Either glue the self-adhesive surface sealing to the switch cabi-
net or place the profile sealing strip into the openings.
CAUTION:
If necessary, reinforce the installation area at the switch
cabinet to achieve proper sealing between cooling unit and
switch cabinet.
3) Place the cooling unit onto the top panel of the switch cabinet
and adjust it to suit the openings.
Hint:
The cooling unit can be lifted using a lifting device (e.g. crane). Four
eyelet rings have to be screwed in where the four fixture screws are
located
4) Adjust the cooling unit to suit the openings and fasten it from the
inside of the switch cabinet using the sash fasteners.

Hint:
To simplify disassembly or assembly of a roof-mounted unit (e.g.
for transportation), a quick-release frame can be mounted as an
option on the electronic enclosure roof. The mounting cutout and
the fixture points are identical to those for the simple roof-mounted
unit, so the frame can also be retrofitted without problems.
The quick-release frame has a central locking mechanism that
establishes an absolutely secure connection with roof-mounted unit.
The quick-release frame is available separately as an accessory
part for the respective unit size. Please find more detailed information
on the Internet at www.pfannenberg.com.
8.2
Power connection
CAUTION:
•
The cooling unit must be connected to the mains by means of a
disconnecting device with a contact gap of at least 3 mm when
switched off.
•
No temperature control must be series-connected to the cooling
unit feed.
•
The fuse as indicated on the ID plate must be series-connected
as line protection.
•
Power connection and repairs, if applicable, may only be carried
out by authorized trained electricians.
Power supply connection (mains):
Both mains voltage and frequency must correspond to the nominal
values indicated on the ID plate of the cooling unit.
•
The installation of the power cable is not subject to any special
requirements
Caution! The cooling unit may be damaged if the volt-
age is too high.
Refers to cooling units for nominal voltages 400V/460V. As
an option, some units, different to the standard
(400V/460V), may be connected to a different mains voltage
(For voltage range see accompanying supplement sheet).
The feed cables on the transformer primary must be un-
clamped for this.
Caution! The cooling unit may be damaged due to
incorrect direction of rotation.
Before switching on the unit, check the phase sequence of
the three-phase supply in order to prevent damage to the
compressor. Direction of rotation must be to the right
(clockwise).
