Installation
3.1
Unpacking
Before removing all packaging, check that the unit is in good condition and has not been damaged externally.
3.2
Handling
The condensing unit can be lifted using the handles built into the packaging. The unit should therefore
be kept in its packaging until it has been moved to the installation site.
The condensing unit must not under any circumstances be lifted by the pipework after the packaging
has been removed.
3.3
Location
The condensing unit should not block or obstruct thoroughfares, doors or shutters.
The surface supporting the condensing unit must be level and capable of bearing its weight (maximum
30 kg).
Keep enough distance between the condensing unit and objects in the surrounding area to ensure good
air circulation.
HGA condensing units must be installed in locations with a good supply of air. Ensure that air is not
recirculated to the condenser when running.
The surface area for the flow of air must be equal to that of the condenser at the very minimum.
3.4
Noise levels
Precautions must be taken during installation to avoid generating additional noise and vibration by poor
installation.
The unit can be mounted on either:
- a rigid base
- a non-rigid base.
When using a rigid base, the condensing unit must be fixed firmly to it. With a non-rigid base, we recom-
mend that isolating material be inserted between the unit and the base. Connecting pipework should
be designed to ensure that vibrations are not transmitted to the rest of the installation (anti-vibration
piping, flexible connections).
The compressor's anti-vibration mounting feet should be regularly checked to ensure optimum opera-
tion of the installation. We recommend they are replaced regularly to ensure the noise level does not
increase. To guarantee the quality of the product, it is essential to use only original Tecumseh Europe
spare parts. See appendix 3, pages 60-61.
