Handling and operation
This section provides you with important information on handling and using the
appliance.
Before initial use

Clean all accessories as described in the section "Cleaning and care" to
remove any possible production residues.
♦
Read these operating instructions carefully.
♦
Set up the appliance in accordance with the safety instructions.
Open the safety catch 4 by moving the slider from the
♦
position.
♦
Clean the appliance with a damp cloth as described in "Cleaning and Care".
♦
Close the appliance.
Insert the mains cable plug 3 in a properly connected and earthed mains
♦
power socket which supplies the voltage stated in the"Technical data" section.
Allow the appliance to heat up for about 5 minutes on the maximum temperature
setting by turning the heat level control 2 as far as the right-hand stop.
NOTE
►
The first time the appliance heats up, a small amount of smoke and odour
may be generated due to production-related residue. This is normal and is
completely harmless. Provide sufficient ventilation; for example, by opening
a window.
After heating, pull the plug 3 out of the mains socket and allow the appliance to

cool down completely.

Clean the appliance again with a damp cloth.
Operation
Close the appliance lid using the handle 6.
♦
Slide the fat collector tray 7 into the appliance.
♦
Replace the plug 3 in the mains mains power socket. Replace the plug in the
♦
mains power socket. The green control lamp "Ready" 5 lights up when the heat
level control 2 is set to "MIN" or lower. The appliance does not heat up in this
setting.
Set the desired level on the heat level control 2. The green "Ready" control lamp 5
♦
goes out and the red "Power" control light 1 lights up. As soon as the set heating
level has been reached, the red "Power" control light 1 goes out and the green
"Ready" control lamp 5 lights up again.
