Standard Plus
Instructions for use
Your Stoma, wound nurse or physician has advised you to start wearing a stoma belt. For optimal care,
the user should read these instructions carefully before applying the belt. This product is a medical
device and is intended for use by one person only.
Intended use of the product
The Standaard Plus belt is mainly used postoperatively to support the abdominal wall and prevent the
formation of hernia and prolapse, for example during physical activities where pressure on the
abdominal wall is higher (sports, gardening, lifting, vacuuming, etc.). The Standaard Plus belt offers
the wearer a high level of wearing comfort, a safe and secure feeling in daily life.
Packaging content

Applying belt
To wear the Standard Plus belt correctly, you should preferably apply the belt while lying down. In case
of a fracture, in many cases it will sink back into the abdomen and the belt provides counter pressure.
This way the fracture is optimally supported. The belt is closed in such a way that you can still slide
your hand in between. The belt is then sufficiently tight to provide support but still wears comfortably.
Fig. 1
The circumference of the abdomen must be
measured to select the correct size. Use the size
chart to determine which size is the best fit.
Fig. 2
Position the ostomy pouch against the
abdominal wall and check that it fits comfortably
and securely. Place the belt on the bed (or put it
on loosely) and lie down on top of the belt.
Fig. 3
Fold the tip of the ostomy pouch into a point
and guide it from the inside of the belt out
through the stoma aperture, with the flange
remaining at inside of the belt.
Fig. 4
Make sure the ostomy pouch is nice flat and
without any folds, then position the belt over the
abdomen and close it at the desired tension.
After closing the belt, check to see if it is
possible to place a hand between the belt and
your abdomen. If necessary, adjust the tension.
After completion you can stand up.
