11.Mount all of the valves on the valve system base plates and also equip the new
base plate (4) with valves (7).
Tightening torque: 0.5 ± 0.1 Nm.
12.Remount the valve system on the mounting surface or transition plate.
13.Bring the manual override(s) to position 0 (see valve system assembly
instructions R412018507).
Extending the valve system with AV-EP base plates
Damage to the AV05-EP pressure regulator!
If you place the AV05-EP on the base plate incorrectly, the spring contact pins
4
(X) can bend.
O Place the AV05-EP on the base plate so that the spring contact pins are first
inserted into the recesses.
6a
Installing the AV-EP base plate
1. Screw the tie rod extension (one for AV03-EP; two for AV05-EP) by hand into the
tie rod end
as far as it goes.
2. Insert the supplied circuit board into the circuit board on the valve system
Make sure the contacts on the circuit board contact safely and correctly.
3. Slide the AV-EP base plate onto the tie rod extension (one for AV03-EP; two for
AV05-EP)
.
Make sure the seals have been inserted correctly on the base plates.
Re-assembling the valve system
1. If necessary, slide the circuit boards removed from the switching valves onto the
circuit board of the AV-EP pressure regulator
2. If necessary, slide the removed base plates onto the tie rods with tie rod
extension
.
3. Insert the end plug in the circuit board
4. Place the end plate
.
5. Retighten the hex socket-head screw (one screw for AV03-EP; two screws for
AV05-EP)
.
6. Replace the IP protective cap
7. Mount all of the valves on the valve system base plates
Tightening torque: 0.5 ± 0.1 Nm.
Extending the valve system with combination plate AV03/AV05
The AV03 valve system can be extended with base plates from the AV05 series.
A combination plate will be used here.
W
The expansion may only be carried out with the AV03 base plates on the
left and the AV05 base plates on the right in the valve system.
W
There are two types of combination plates available (1, 3, 5 closed and 1,
3, 5 opened).
3
Disassembly
Disassembly of the valve system for preparation of installation of a combination
plate is described in section "Extending the valve system with supply plates, base
plates, or AV-EP base plates".
O Perform steps 1 to 8 described there.
Installing a combination plate
9. Place the combination plate (1) on the exposed AV03 base plate.
a) Screw the tie rod extension onto the tie rod of the exposed AV03 base plate.
b) Insert the extension circuit board (2) into the circuit board of the last valve
system base plate (remove end plug for valve systems with bus coupler).
c) Slide the combination plate (1) on the extension circuit board (2) and the tie rod
extension (3), paying attention that the seal(s) is/are positioned correctly.
Installing the base plate (AV05) on the combination plate
10.To fit an AV05 base plate (7) to the combination plate (1), manually screw the tie
rod extension (6) into the tie rod (3) of the AV03 base plates, and the tie rod (4)
into the combination plate.
11.Insert the extension circuit board (5) into the combination plate circuit board.
12.Slide the base plate (7) onto the extension circuit board (5 ) and the tie rods(4, 6).
Make sure that the seal(s) between the base plate and combination plate is/are
positioned correctly (1).
The possible number of attached AV05 base plates depends on the number of
free contacts (multipole or bus coupler) for control.
13.If you would like to attach more AV05 base plates, follow the steps described in
"Extending the valve system with supply plates, base plates, or AV-EP base
plates."
14.Plug the end plug onto the last extension circuit board (only necessary for valve
systems with bus coupler).
15.Installation of the AV05 end plate and final assembly of the valve system are
described in "Extending the valve system with supply plates, base plates, or AV-
EP base plates".

Extending the valve system with an electrical valve control plate
1. For AV05: Screw the tie rod extension (8) into (4) as well as (9) into (6) by hand.
For AV03: Only screw the tie rod extension (9) into (6).
2. Insert the extension circuit board/control circuit board (12) into the supply plate
(10).
3. Slide the base plate (11) onto the extension circuit board/control circuit board
and onto the tie rod extension, paying attention that the seal(s) is/are positioned
correctly on the base plates.

Commissioning
Commissioning may only be carried out by qualified electrical or
pneumatic personnel or an instructed person under the direction and
supervision of qualified personnel (see also "Personnel qualifications").
O Observe the necessary and supplementary documentation ("Required and
supplementary documentation") for commissioning and operating your extended
valve system.
Connecting the electrical system
.
Electrical connection on a valve system
O Follow the assembly instructions for your valve system (R412018507).
Electrical connection for valve systems with a D-Sub connection
O Set up the pin assignments to actuate the newly installed valves (see operating
instructions R412019225).
Electrical connection for valve systems with bus coupler
The components in the valve system are re-arranged after conversion. The bus
coupler reports the new sequence to the control. You must therefore reconfigure the
PLC. The process depends on the fieldbus protocol.
O Update your system's PLC configuration. Note the system description on the bus
coupler used (on CD R412018133). There, you can find more information on the
PLC configuration key.
O Update your systems to actuate the newly installed valves.
Electrical connection for valve systems with control module
O Connect the cable to the connection on the electrical valve control module.
Connecting the pneumatics
General information
O Follow the assembly instructions for your valve system (R412018507).
O Provide unused connections with blanking plugs.
7
Disposal
O Comply with national regulations regarding disposal.
