As with all our pond products, the Laguna SkimAway Filter is designed to make your water gardening experience as simple and enjoyable
as possible. Proper installation of this unit will provide several benefits, including clear and healthy pond water, low maintenance, and, of
course, a pleasant water garden environment for you and your family to enjoy and be proud of.
The SkimAway Filter is designed for ponds up to 500 U.S. gallons (1890 litres). If you have a larger pond, two or more units can be installed
to increase the level of filtration. This manual covers all aspects of installing the SkimAway Filter, safeguards, how to maintain and store
your filter as well as specific complementary products. Read and understand these instructions thoroughly before beginning installation.

Do not attempt repairs yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the appliance.
IMPORTANT:
Electrical supply to the power adaptor should only be made though a GFCI outlet or protected circuit. If the GFCI-
Ground Fault Current Interrupter trips disconnect the power adaptor's supply cord from mains then remove the unit from the water.
The power adaptor should be installed on a vertical surface a minimum of 12'' (30.5 cm) above the ground, using the mounting
holes provided on the power adaptor body.
3. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or it is dropped or damaged in any manner.
The power cord of this appliance cannot be replaced; if the cord is damaged, the appliance should be discarded. Never cut the cord.

– Always unplug or disconnect all electrical devices in the pond from the mains supply before placing hands in water,
before putting on or taking off parts and whilst the equipment is being installed, maintained or handled. Never yank cord to pull
plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect. Always unplug the pump from the electrical outlet when not in use.
7. This is a submersible pond filter with pump. Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use (i.e.: do not use in swimming
pools, bathrooms, etc.). The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
8. Do not use this appliance in swimming pools or other situations where people are immersed.
9. This appliance is suitable for use in water temperatures up to 35 °C (95 ºF).
10. Do not use this appliance with inflammable or drinkable liquids.
11. This appliance is suitable for Indoor/Outdoor, domestic use only.
12. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to temperatures below freezing.
13. Make sure that the appliance is securely positioned before operating it. Do not allow pump to run dry. The pump must be
immersed in water completely. The pump must never operate outside of water.
14. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with proper outdoor use rating should be used. A cord rated for less amperes than the
appliance rating, may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.
15. For the complete use and understanding of this product it is recommended that this manual is thoroughly read and understood.
Failure to do so may result in damage to this product.
16. North American units only:
will only fit into an electrical outlet made for a 3-prong plug. This is a safety feature. If the plug should fail to fit the outlet, contact
an electrician to replace the outlet. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the grounding pin.

• DO NOT use in water intended for swimming, wading, immersion or bathing.
• The lights are suitable for use in water temperatures up to 35 °C (95 ºF).

The installation must conform to the regulations of the Local Electricity Authority which could include the use of a plastic or metal
conduit to protect the cable. A 30 mA Residual. Current Device 'RCD' must be fitted to the mains supply.
IMPORTANT
- The wires in this mains lead are colored in accordance with the following code:
The Brown lead should be connected to the Live terminal, which may be marked with an 'L' or colored brown or red.
The Blue lead should be connected to the Neutral terminal, which may be marked with an 'N' or colored blue or black.
The cord should be protected from abrasion, cuts or any other damage. The socket must be positioned in a dry and protected place.
