Caution: Keep any packaging materials
well away from children – such materials
are a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suffocation.
Always remove the plug from the wall
socket after using the espresso maker, as
well as
- in cases of malfunction and
- during cleaning.
When removing the plug from the wall
socket, never pull on the power cord; always
grip the plug itself.
Before inserting the plug into a suitable wall
outlet, ensure that
- all accessory parts have been correctly
fitted,
- the appliance has been filled with water,
- the On/Off switch is in its Off-position,
and
- the valve selector control is set to its
neutral position ( ).
Do not use the appliance outdoors; protect
it from zero or sub-zero temperatures at all
times.
No responsibility will be accepted if damage
results from improper use, or if these
instructions are not complied with.
This appliance is intended for domestic or
similar applications, such as
- in shops, offices and other similar
working environments,
- in agricultural areas,
- by customers in hotels, motels etc. and
similar establishments,
- in bed-and breakfast type environments.
In order to comply with safety regulations
and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical
appliances must be carried out by qualified
personnel, including the replacement of the
power cord. If repairs are needed, please
send the appliance to one of our customer
service departments. The addresses can be
found in the appendix to this manual.
Main indicator light
The red main indicator light stays lit while the
appliance is switched on.
Temperature indicator light
The temperature indicator light comes on as
soon as the operating temperature necessary for
hot water or steam has been reached.
Hot-water/steam selector button
This selector allows you to choose either hot
water or steam.
For hot water, the button must be in its
raised position. The hot water can now be
drawn through either the boiler outlet (with
the filter holder in place) or the steam outlet.
To dispense steam, the selector button must
be pushed in. The steam can be drawn
through the steam nozzle using the valve
selector control.
Valve selector control
The valve selector control has three settings:
Dispensing steam/hot water via the steam
nozzle
Pump switched off / neutral position
Pump switched on: dispensing espresso
via the boiler outlet (with the filter holder
in place)
As soon as the valve selector control is turned
from its neutral position, either the steam
nozzle or boiler outlet will open, and steam or
hot water will be emitted.
Inserting/removing the filter holder
–
The filter holder is fitted to the appliance by
means of a bayonet-type locking socket.
When attaching the filter holder, its handle
must be facing to the left of the boiler outlet
(picture I). To lock, turn the filter holder
firmly as far as possible to the right, i.e. in
an anti-clockwise direction (picture II).

To unlock and remove the filter holder, turn
it to the left, i.e. clockwise.

Caution: Do not remove the filter holder
while the appliance is in use, since the filter
holder is under pressure. Once the brewing
cycle is complete, wait around 30 seconds
before removing the filter holder.

Filling with water:
Fill only with fresh water, on a daily basis;
