GENERATOR SET OVERLOAD
Never exceed the rated power capacity (Amperes and/
or Watts) during continuous operation. Before connecting
and running the generator set, calculate the electrical
power consumption of the electrical equipment (in Watts
or Amperes). This electrical power (in Watts and/or Amperes)
is generally found on the identification plate of bulbs, elec-
trical appliances, motors, etc. The total of all the powers of
the equipment used should not exceed at any one time the
rated power of your generator set.
Note: an electrical appliance (compass saw, drill, etc.) consu-
mes more Watts or Amperes than the number specified on
the identification plate when the motor is subjected to diffi-
cult use. For example, a saw that is to cut an extremely hard
material consumes 3 to 4 times more Watts or Amperes
than the number specified on its identification plate.
STARTING UP, OPERATING AND SHUTTING DOWN THE
GENERATOR SET
Starting up the generator set
a) Open the petrol cock by turning the handle (17) to «ON»
b) Close the starter by pushing the lever(18).
c) Set the on/off switch (13) to «ON».
d) Take hold of the start-up handle correctly.
e) Pull the start-up handle slowly until a slight resistance is
felt and then return it slowly.
f) ake hold of the start-up handle correctly and pull the cord
firmly and quickly (pull it completely and use both hands
if required).
Return the handle slowly by hand. If the motor has not
started, repeat the operation until the motor has started by
opening the starter progressively.
Check the condition of the rope. For your safety, if it shows
signs of wear, closer to the point of sale.
g) When the motor has started up, open the starter pro-
gressively.
Before making any attempt to start up the
generator set, make sure that all the instructions
described in the above sections have been strictly
adhered to.

OPERATING THE GENERATOR SET
a) When the generator has stabilised its speed (1 min),
connect the male connector(s) into the female connector of
the AC generator. Depending on the model, check that the
circuit breaker is engaged. From this moment, you can use
your electrical equipment.
SHUTTING DOWN THE GENERATOR SET
a) Disconnect the connectors to allow the motor to run off-
load for 1 or 2 min. Set the on/off switch (13) to «OFF»: the
generator shuts down
b) Close the petrol cock.(17)

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL
CHECK THE OIL LEVEL EACH TIME THE MOTOR IS STARTED
AND EVERY 8 HOURS OF OPERATION
OIL DRAINING
DRAIN THE MOTOR OIL AFTER THE FIRST 5 HOURS OF
OPERATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY EVERY 50 HOURS
-While the motor is hot, remove the drain plug (1) and allow
all the oil to evacuate into a container.
-After the oil has completely evacuated, put the drain plug
(1) back in position.
-Unfasten and remove the filling dipstick cap.
-Replace and refasten the filling dipstick cap on its neck.
-Wipe any trace of oil with a clean cloth.
AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
CLEAN THE FILTER EVERY 100 HOURS OR EACH SEASON
-Unfasten the screws from the cover of the air filter (12).
-Remove the cover and the complete air filter from the
base.
-Remove the complete air filter from the cover
CARTRIDGE MAINTENANCE
a. Clean by tapping gently on a flat surface.
b. If it is very soiled, replace it or wash it in a solution of hot
water and non-foaming detergent. Rinse with plenty of run-
ning water from the mesh until the water is clear. Air-dry the
cartridge before reusing it.
c. Reassemble the cartridge on the cover.
d. Insert the tappets of the cover into the notches of the
base and fasten the screws of the cover firmly
SETTING THE SPARK PLUG
CLEAN AND SET THE DISTANCE OF THE SPARK PLUG
ELECTRODES EVERY 100 HOURS OF OPERATION (DISTANCE:
0.8 MM)
-The spark plug is only
cleaned with a scraper
or a metal brush plus a
clean cloth (replace it if
required)
