1.0 User Controls and Display

1.1 On /Off Switch
To turn the unit on, depress the ON/OFF switch. The
unit defaults to CW (Continuous Wave) and 1310 nm
output on power up, this is indicated by the CW and
the 1310 nm LED illuminating. To turn the unit off,
depress the ON/OFF switch again.
1.2Wavelength (λ) Switch
To select the 1300nm output, depress the lambda
switch. Selection is indicated by the illumination of the
1300nm LED. To change back to the 850nm output,
depress the switch again. Selection is indicated by
the illumination of the 850nm LED.
1.3 CW / MOD Switch
Used to select the LED output to either CW
(Continuous Wave) or 1 kHz modulation. Selection is
indicated by the illumination of the appropriate LED.
To change back to the previous mode, depress the
CW/MOD switch again.
1.4 LO BATT LED
This LED illuminates when the internal alkaline
batteries require replacement or NiCd/NiMH batteries
require recharging.
1.5 CHARGE LED
This LED illuminates when the external Mains
adapter is connected to the source indicating that the
rechargeable batteries are on charge. See section 3.0
for details.
