Assembly Instructions
Fitting the dust extraction system (Fig2)
The dust extraction system prevents the accumulation of
dirt and high dust loads in the air, and it makes it easier to
dispose of the dust.
1. Insert the dust extraction hose into the mount. Both
interlocking lugs should be snapped into the notches in the
mount
2. To dismantle the hose, carefully press into the notches
with the flat side of a suitable screwdriver. By doing this, the
interlocking lugs are released from the notches and the hose
can be released from the mount.
3. Connect the appliance to a suitable extraction unit or a
suitable vacuum cleaner before commencing on any sanding
operations.
Caution
Dust can be dangerous. Use the dust extraction system to
keep the workplace as clean and safe as possible.
Changing the Abrasive Paper (Fig 3)
The sanding/grinding disk comes with a Velcro fastening
system for attaching the sanding/grinding paper. This
permits new sanding/grinding paper to be attached without
a clamping device. Before attaching a new piece of sanding/
grinding paper, ensure that the Velcro fastener is clean and
free from any dirt or debris. Clean with if necessary.
Place the new sanding/grinding paper on the sanding/
grinding disk. Fix the sanding/grinding paper in place by
pressing it firmly with your hand.
Operation Instructions
Warning
Before using your dry wall sander be sure to read the
instruction manual carefully.
Operating instructions
1. Know your drywall sander. (Fig 1)
Read and understand the Operator's Manual and labels
affixed to the tool. Learn its application and limitations as
well as the potential hazards specific to this tool. Read the
instruction manual carefully
2. Electrical connection
Your dry wall sander has a precision-built electric motor and
it should only be connected to a 230 V, 50Hz. Power supply
(normal household current). Do not operate on direct current
(DC). This large voltage drop will cause a loss of power that
will overheat the motor. If your sander does not operate
GB
when plugged into an outlet, have a professional electrician
check the power supply.
Warning: Avoid accidental starting.
Make sure the switch is in the OFF position before plugging
the mitre sander into a power outlet.
3. Body and Hand position
The Drywall Sander should be held with both hands on the
main tube (Fig 4). Your hands may be positioned anywhere
along the tube to provide the best combination of reach and
leverage for the particular operation being undertaken.
Caution
Keep hands on the main tube and away from the sanding
head area.
4. To turn sander on (Fig 5)
Plug the machine into the mains supply, but first check that
the On/ Off switch is in the O position. Move the switch to
the 1 position, and the machine will start. Move the switch
to the O position and the machine will stop.
5. Speed Controller (Fig 6)
To select the required speed turn the knurled control wheel
on the switch handle.
6. Using the telescopic length extension (Fig 7)
Unscrew the lock for the telescopic length extension
approximately 2-3 turns. The telescopic length extension
can now be pulled out to the desired length. Relock at the
required length by tightening the lock.
7. Swivelling grinding/sanding disk (Fig 8)
The grinding/sanding disk swivels on two different axes,
and thereby enables comfortable operator stance even for
overhead work or work in confined spaces
