7) To switch off the station, press the toggle switch.
4 Replacement of the Soldering Tip
1) Prior to replacing the soldering tip, switch off the
station with the toggle switch (5) and disconnect
the station from the mains. Have the screw sleeve
(10) and soldering tip (11) cool down to room tem-
perature.
2) Screw off the screw sleeve with the fingers from the
soldering iron tube.
3) Remove possible oxide residues from the soldering
iron tube. While blowing oxide particles out of the
tube, provide a corresponding eye protection.
4) Replace the soldering tip (e. g. by soldering tips of
the MONACOR series SIT-5..) and fix the screw
sleeve by turning and tightening it with the fingers.
In order not to damage the heating element, the
screw sleeve must not be tightened too much.
5 Notes for Correct Soldering
1) Prior to the operation check the soldering tip for
tight position.
2) Always keep the soldering tip clean and - es-
pecially prior to switching off the soldering station -
provide it with sufficient soldering tin.
3) Prior to soldering clean the parts to be soldered.
4) To protect the soldering station and the soldering
tip, the unit should not be operated at temperatures
of 400°C and more for a longer period of time.
6 Cleaning of the Soldering Station
Prior to cleaning the soldering station must be
switched off and disconnected from the mains! The
housing of the soldering station and the handle of the
soldering iron may be cleaned with a slightly wet cloth
and a small quantity of liquid detergent. Sharp de-
tergents or chemicals must not be used. While clean-
