For details on the programming, please refer to the technical manual of the IZAR WIN CE software
program on Diehl Metering handheld computers.
When a handheld computer and software other than Diehl Metering are used, refer to the relevant
manual.
NB: The programming of this version is identical to that of version R3. In the Diehl Metering
program, select the "IZAR R3" version, as the type of module is recognised automatically. If third
party software are used, request advice from your supplier.
If an error occurs during programming, the configuration must be redone with the optical head. The
process is identical to that of programming.

PERATING PRINCIPLE
2.1.1 C
OMMUNICATION
IZAR RC 868 i G4 sends data in R3 mode using the "OMS" standard: OMS is a communication
protocol developed within the framework of the EN13757 -3/-4 recommendations.
2.1.2 O
PERATION
IZAR RC 868 i G4 radio module contains low-consumption electronic components. The metering
pulses detection uses inductive technology. The water meter's consumption data is stored in real
time in the memory of the radio module.
The information is then emitted in 2 different ways:
Every 12 seconds with the OMS protocol at the 868.95 MHz frequency -> Mode R3 for the
index and alarms. Detailed information regarding leaks and historic of consumptions are
transmitted every 6 sendings.
Every 15 minutes at the 868.430 MHz frequency -> Mode R4
2.1.3 I
NTEGRATION OF BACKFLOW
IZAR RC 868 i G4 has a flow direction detection feature and a special algorithm enabling it to take
into account a backflow situation. The index transmitted by IZAR RC 868 i G4 is a "real time"
index; the electronic index and the index of the meter are always identical, with a precision of 2
pulses.
IZAR RC 868 i G4 does not require a non-return valve to be installed (unless for protection
against downstream pollution risks).
